I heard that rainbow lorikeets were introduced to Western Australia from New South Wales :) It is ridiculous that the government thinks that a bird indigenous to Australia can be considered a pest! I have heard that rainbow lorikeets do compete with the purple crowned lorikeets ( which are native here) for food and nesting :) Paulie is a character and loves to be interacted with! :)Quote:

The picture of Athena and her eggs is over 20 years old. Sadly, she is getting on, not eating any more, and is near her end.

I can't have a pet right now, but I'm trying to tame the wildlife. The birds are still really nervous around me, but I have a squirrel trying to feed babies who is braver than the other squirrels. Trying to tame wildlife is a terrible idea. Just ask any wildlife rehabilitation expert. Leave them to be wild!

Maybe taming is the wrong word... just feeding them and watching. I wouldn't actually try to touch them. Plus I have a neighbor down the street who shoots squirrels that get in his garden so feeding them at my house helps keep them nearby and they don't have to go in his yard searching for food. A slightly tame squirrel is better than a dead squirrel. I especially worry about Mama and her babies.

They're so tiny in comparison to my adults! They're also incredibly fast. When I'm trying to catch them they're like little bars of soap on legs...

Wow she's pretty! I had a male albino Burmese when I lived in the UK, but couldn't legally bring him with me. My wife has a rosy boa and a Kenyan sand boa, will try and get pictures up today and I'll hunt for pictures of my snakes from back in England.Quote:
