That Awkward Moment When: Mermaid Edtion!

That awkward moment when I'm at an anime convention cosplaying a lesser-known Marvel character who dresses like a bondage stripper (don't worry, I added a shirt to the costume), and a total stranger walks up to me and asks where my tail is. I explained that the character I was cosplaying doesn't have a tail, but then he said, "No, I mean your mermaid one. Don't you wear that with every costume?" Turns out the guy had seen my cosplay page on facebook, and remembered the mermaid pics more than all the ones where I have perfectly visible legs even though I only have pictures from two mermaid shoots on there and a lot more non-mer costumes. *shrug*

I put my hands out in front of me to stabilize and SNAP. My wrist has some terrible pain and they are laughing because I make the most ridiculous noises when i'm in pain. They thought that was the trick. Imagine a lama and a woodpecker singing a duo together. That's not a sirens call lol! I'm still laughing pretty hard at that.:rotfl:
Thank goodness that was just with a group of friends. Highlight of the night. LOL!

Zicoxite I would think a lot of superheroes dress like bondage strippers but the only one immediately coming to mind is Jean Grey when she was the Hellfire Club's Black Queen during the Dark Phoenix Saga. To whom were you referring?

That Awkward Moment/Lifetime When you're forced to live as a male but refuse to give up on your dreams, so you act out some of your mermaid fantasies in a role-playing game...and need to explain to your players why Mermaid Tail is the first spell acquired and also grants a ludicrously-high Armour Class due to the scales on the tail....

...It's because I wanted the players to use it! Any Game Master worth their (sea)salt knows how difficult it is to get players in the water voluntarily!

That awkward moment when you're rewatching all the mermaid videos, tutorials, first swim in tail, kids in tails etc, because you're still waiting for your new monofin and purple scale sequins to arrive.

That awkward moment when you ask your friend to videotape/photograph you on one of your dives, and they need to take several breaths while you were on a single one.

When you're waiting for the fedex truck delivering your paints and you keep the windows in your room open so you can hear it even if that means fuzzy socks and two layers of clothes because you're cold.

That awkward moment you can't wait to move to your new house so you can start getting your stuff for a new tail.

That awkward moment when after a photoshoot you put your tail off and a little girl says sadly "Oh, she's not a real mermaid..."

That awkward moment when you are putting the finishing touches on your silicone tail, trying it on alone in your living room and you have to fart.


And five minutes later, when you're taking the tail off, you end up getting hit with your own fart cloud! :surrender:
