My friend bought some Isis Wings for part of her final project and she brought them in to class and let me wear them and play with them! She got them for a good price too so I am tempted to get my own and try using them with mermaid photos like what Hannah Fraser has done.
I may have gotten commissions today because I wore my "mermaids are real" t-shirt into a restaurant! The hostess and I gushed for a while about mermaids and I showed her some of the tails I made. She took my business email and was really excited and said she also had some friends who would be interested. Not crossing my fingers but was still an exciting moment! :D

I don't know if they have Renaissance Faires in other states besides TX--so I'm thinking that you are talking about the one in TX.
Do they sell mermaid tails there?

I'm going to my first American ren faire Halloween weekend, I'm so stoked and currently trying to figure out what to wear for it bearing in mind it'll be pennsylvania in late October... Plus I don't want to annoy any resident Mers if I go in my land-legs mer outfit...
Flying in the day before, and don't fly home til after mermania :D

I (finally) got a new job which means I can start officially saving for my tail. I'm happy :)
I might get another crack at going to Weeki Wachee. The last time we drove by there they were closed so we did a photoshoot in the parking lot next to the mermaid statues. Then on our way back from our trip that took us past Weeki a huge storm was slowly rolling through with thunder, lightning, and buckets of rain so the park was closed. I got a brochure from the front desk haha. The only time I have been inside Weeki Wachee was when I was a wee little girl and I got to sit on a mermaid's lap for a photo. It was an amazing experience. I really hope I can get in this time. :biting nails:
Today I got to hang out with some amazing mermaids and even got to see an ex H2O tail in person. Oh my god that fluke I am in love.

On another note I FINALLY ordered my first monofin today! I ended up picking the Finis Wave since I have tiny feet. Since I'm still early in the surrogacy I can't use it right when I get it but I shouldn't have to wait longer than a week or two after it gets here next week to be cleared for swimming.
Originally I wanted to get a fabric tail and monofin but my husband and I compromised on getting just the monofin since I plan on making my own tail or buying one down the road.

Not entirely mermaid related but I started a kind of deal with a dice company (which make semiprecious gemstone and various metal dice). I send them my dragon and mimic dice holders , eventually other designs, and they sell them for me!!. Of course they take their small commission, but they go to the events with the specific clientele that would purchase them. All my items sold out within the first 3 hours of the weekend convention!!! Gosh that made me happy.

Thank you Hydra!! I wasn't that confident in them, though my partner was. But the income is nice considering working 10 hours a week I can barely cover anything.
An artist's greatest critic is themselves. If I had the money for it I'd buy one to keep spare change and trinkets in.
On another note I found out my monofin will be here tomorrow not next week. I can't wait to finally have it.
I have been told that many times. We see the flaws and imperfections because we spend so much time working and looking at it, where as others see the final awesome product.

My husband also got his Mares Raptor dive fins. We can't wait to test them out at Peanut Island.

I found a gift card for Amazon hidden in some of my stuff just recently and I have been tempted to use it to get that blue Mahina. Have you swam in it yet CoyoteWalker?
I'm pregnant! 8 weeks now, so still pretty early, but so far I have been lucky and the sickness part hasn't been to hard for me, only a little nauseated at times.
I already made arrangements for the first echo and can't wait to see it :D
Went swimming with a freind today :3 it was her first time in the water with a tail and it was a lot of fun to have another mermaid around
