Also what does being pregnant have to do with anything? If you're pregnant you shouldn't even be making tails in the first place.
The point is to garner sympathy, b/c that's the only thing she might be able to get going for her at this point. Reminds me of jury duty, when the guy was like, "I wanted to keep my doggy!" First words out of my mouth when the jury began discussion: "I don't give a damn about his dog. It has no bearing on the contract he signed or on the issues of this case." The most ridiculous part to me is that she thinks she's not a scammer because the original buyer got a (forced) refund. Ummmmm, you still lied about the pictures Boo Boo. You're STILL lying about the pictures. The mer-community is not going to forget this, sob story or not.
So Alice has posted in almost all of the mermaid related groups I'm a part of on FB. And I looked at the clients posts as well.
I wanted to hear both sides before making any snap decisions, because lets face it, there ARE shitty clients out there who just want to start drama.

I'm sorry, come up with as much of a sob story as you want, but the photos you sent Traci are CLEARLY stolen (mertailor and merberry are the two most notable tail makers she claimed as her own product)
and she charged $1,000 for a product that miht have cost $200 in materials. I've made fabric tails. I've attempted latex (theres a reason I dont offer tails lol I suck with SFX material).
that product was not worth even $50. I mean, I know she claimed to have rushed the process, but what she provided was a joke.
Dont even get me started on the subject that she was "rushed" and sent out a sub par product. thats just bad business, regards of whatever industry youre in.
I am so tempted to call her out on facebook and all of these "sob" posts she has made....but I dont want to be THAT person.
so yeah. the stuff people try to pull is just amazing.
Yeah I can't believe she's trying so hard to throw her sob story around, the 2 profiles I thought were sock puppets are actually both of people related to her (the guy is her BF/husband or something, I didn't go to the other's page but I'm assuming they're also related or a friend)
I wonder if she deleted the post or if the admins of the group did.
Also she blocked me lol, she I can't see any of her posts or her page anymore.

Fact is you don't use other people's work and claim it as your own. You use your own work to showcase your skills and what people can expect from you. That's why portfolios exist. That's why people post their work online for everyone to see. They don't take other people's images, pretend it's theirs and then say "I used it as an example". Is this girl stupid?
I agree this is a scammer in regards to this Mermaid tale. She should be using her own work for examples of what she can do and if she doesn't have any examples, she should certainly make some so that she can show them off. And then just sell the ones she already has if they're of decent quality (Though what she did think to send out really makes me worry). Her inability to realize that concerns me and I have serious doubt in her integrity as any kind of artist.
I do think the personal attacks are getting out of control. Making fun of her singing. And I don't know what the deal is with her custody battle but maybe that shouldn't be brought up. Thrash her business practices. Anything beyond that does seem like bullying.
Agreed the rest of the stuff should have been left out because Irrelevant to the actual issue at hand.

She's claiming it's not her fault that people didn't do their research and see that she's new at making tails. She doesn't have any remorse for stealing photos and passing the work off as her own
And those are crappy business practices. They show a lack of integrity and are certainly things that should be brought up because someone will get scammed if she doesn't get it together. There's no problem with that stuff coming out.Quote:

Again with the whole pregnancy thing, if she's not able to bring out quality work and blame it on being pregnant, she shouldnt be pumping tails out in the first place.
Take a page from Syren studios book and take a break before even thinking about making tails. Follow Lily's example. She knows she's gonna be focused on her baby and won't have 100% of her time dedicated to making high quality tails.
Alice needs to smarten up.
So here's the story and I'll try to make it quick. I first contacted her in late Sept due to a mermaid tail for sale in her shop. I told her that I was doing a concept shoot in July and would need one tail in Feb and the remaining four by April. She agreed. I made my first payment of $200 then made three more with the balance paid almost in full by Jan. I told her I would pay her the remaining $150 after I received all of the tails.
I asked her to share sneak peeks as I share these in my group with my clients to get them excited. Nothing.
Then she finally sends me an image saying this is the mold. I tell her it's already Feb 5 and she's barely doing the mold the n explain to her I'm very nervous due to a recent negative review and she gets annoyed. I respond that it isn't personal but I am worried because my whole shoot is centered around these tails. Finally in March she sends me that monstrosity. I freaked out. It was the wrong material, wrong size, wrong everything. I realize there is a disconnect and reverse search the tails. They aren't her images.
I message her and she does say she will do anything to make it better but there isn't anything she can do. She lacks the skills to make what she promised. I filed claims with PayPal, Etsy and my credit card. She willingly paid $600 from PayPal but Etsy forced her to pay the remaining $400. It seems that there was a hold on the $600 since I filed a claim or so that's what she told me as to why it took so long to get the $600 refund although Etsy tells me she wasn't issuing refunds. So I'm not sure what to believe there. I'm willing to accept she may have willingly been refunding that. The $400 I had to fight to get back.
I was done with her then she accuses me of creating a Etsy account called Vengeful Mermaid. Which I didn't do and no idea who did. So that died down then today I'm getting blasted for taking down her shop which needed to happen but wasn't me - I'm sure a cluster of multiple complaints led to that.
So here she is lying on FB all over and sharing my business page. If she doesn't stop then it's about to turn very ugly for her as I have all messages and facts. I'm getting screenshots of posts she's still making even though her boyfriend assured me they were done.
As for the thread on my page where we share her scams. I did share a scam where she's trying to get money claiming she was a victim. I was married in a very abusive relationship for 18 years and 99.9% her post was bogus just trying to scam money like she's doing now. This is on my page and I didn't say anything to her about but she's trying to say I was harassing her. Laughable.
