The $30,000 fish? I remember seeing that in the news.

Yeup, same fish. There was a lot of stress over it. People at the aquarium may not have been the smartest in their handling of that guy. I know, I got to deal with the mess. No matter the price tag you put on a fish you can usually treat them in the same way. What nearly got us was people thinking it needed extra everything. Which got rather frustrating, but he's alive and happy now on exhibit.
I actually saw one at MACNA, last weekend. Granted, it was plastic and tied to a string but hey, I'll take what I can get. ;) You folks should put an additional webcam on that tank, so the world can watch your peppermint angelfish :)
As for the tanks at MACNA:

He's really not that exciting :P he eats and swims around and does general fishy things all day. I can take a pic for you guys if you like.
Mernetwork won't let me post the image as it is claimed to be "to large of a file" but here is the link...

Stumbled on this on Youtube and after laughing hysterically, decided it needed to be shared with the rest of the community. You know, in case any of us run into any cheeky octopi...

Wow, what a cool thread. Shall we try to resurrect it??
Here's some fin-spiration. I'm usually more inspired by a fish's fins than his colors.

a queen snapper tail would be gorgeous!!
I think that butterfly koi has stolen my heart in terms of tails.
Though if you really want some color, Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse

True that. Beautiful.
How about this fish swimming at 27,000 feet underwater? Its movement is simply mesmerizing.

That is so beautiful! Mesmerizing, indeed!
(I want those fins and now I have to go design myself a new tail!)
Pretty fantastic. The fins are definitely cool.
It was so graceful...up until 1:41 when it face-planted into the ocean floor. Hope none of the other fish saw that...:$
Interesting (if not overly practical) fins: the juvenile spotted drum:

Introducing the ruby seadragon
Wow, a new seadragon species! I hope they find one alive. The weedy seadragon is one of my favorite animals.
Oh how precious is that spotted drum! And I am such a huge sea dragon fan! [emoji7] I hope they still exist-- it says they have samples of them for a hundred years ago. I would love to see one in person!

Here's a fish with the best name ever, the Sarcastic Fringehead.
Most of the time they go around looking like this...

I'm going to have to remember "Sarcastic Fringehead" the next time I want to insult someone!
My favorite fish name to say is Humuhumunukunukuapua'a.

A recently discovered sea slug. Can't remember the name. I love the way it's shaped and its colors.
Sorry about how big the photo is. Screenshot on my phone...
Has anyone posted the Black & White Snapper yet? Love these guys - the juveniles have very distinctive markings, that fade to an almost uniform gray when they're full grown.

I really want to start this up again! I might not be able to add to it every single day, but I have at least a full month's worth of interesting fish already saved on my computer....
I'll start with the ever amazing Mantis Shrimp! I have no idea how this crazy little guy hasn't been featured already
