SO pretty!
Eeee! Thank you so much :) It's my first time ever doing fins so I am really please with how they tuned out!
That is some amazing two-tone and patina work...especially for fabric fins! :mermaid kiss:
It isn't as glorious as many of the other tails here, but I finally finished my first spandex tail this past weekend. I still need to sew on a few more snaps to the fluke where I left an opening for removal of the monofin and I still want to add black outlined scales.. but it's swimable now at least. :) I just bought some new spandex in a very pretty emerald green tonight so plans for my 2nd tail are already in the works. I'm officially addicted and have found at least 3 more fabrics I want to make tails out of in the coming months, as I'm able to afford it.Attachment 29853
It's a striking color Bettababy! Congrats on your first tail!!:D
It does look lovely! :mermaid kiss:
Thanks!
My new MerNations tail and top! Thought I would share :D It's not as dark as it looks in the first 2 pictures <3

Ooo that tail has an internal feel to it; like something of the very deep sea that dwells among sulfuric vents! Such things are said to be the best possibility of life upon moons like Europa and Enceladus which are covered with thick ice on the surface but which have warm water beneath due to their cores. :mermaid kiss: :cthulhu:
Woah, that got deep xD But it actually really nicely describes the tail. The colors really pop
That is stunning!

Your tails look amazing Ambr. Is the selkie one velvet?
Silver tail is waiting to be covered in silicone to give it a dolphin like feel.

Mahalo Syrenity. And yes, it is made of 4-way stretch velvet.
Nice, gives it that seal look when they come out of the water :)
Yes it does. Feels soft and fuzzy in and out of the water. I love it.
Lol, I couldn't agree more.
Hey guys, you made me so happy with your comments regarding my sand dragon tail... Thank you so much Meronica, SeaMonkey, Echidna, Vicky, Vrindavana, Morganna and Michelle!!!
Iīm glad you like my second "dragon", Michelle!!! These sculptures are placed in a German diving tower, to let the divers explore old Greece or Atlantis underwater....Quote:

I took one look at these pictures and thought, Ah, she's the Green Dragon I saw last year; this is a different tail yet it has her style and is still dragon-themed! :mermaid kiss: It, you, and the environment in which you are swimming look amazing (the lights suggest a pool, yet those decorative sculpture pieces/masonry/paintings? suggest what looks not unlike a set)!
That sounds like a very cool place to swim, SeaNymph!
I quite like all three of your tails, AmbrGlow!
ah that selkie tail is cute!!

AmbrGlows, your tails are so pretty! I think the most recent one with silicone is going to look really nice :)
I can't wait for it to dry up here so I can work on it.
How cool! A selkie tail!
So I didn't learn until after I bought this fabric that the color comes off and turns silver, but I think it just makes it look cooler! I hand painted the fin, and used finfun's new monofin. I think it turned out pretty well being my first sewing project without my mom's help. haha I'll be making my friend's tail next!

The paint job on the fluke is really pretty! The bits of glitter adds a really nice touch :)
I'm going to be modeling jewellery at the Niagara Falls Comic Con next weekend, and I just found out there will not be room for me to sit- at least not if I want to be recognisable as a mermaid! Time for making the worlds fastest walking tail!

Excuse the wonky mirror- the mirror is brown and distorted, but its the only full length mirror I have. I traced my Finfun tail for the "body," then made a circle skirt for the "fins," which i have to shorten a bit. Not bad for thirty dollars and two hours work!
Now, do I want to risk sequinsing it?
It looks lovely already, but I say go for it! :mermaid kiss:
Damn impressive! I always end up using those mermaid leggings as my walking tail
Sequins would look fantastic! And since it's a walking tail and the bottom doesn't need to stretch, you could glue them on fairly quickly.
I do still need it to stretch so that I can get it on and sit and so forth, so I've been sewing the sequins. Thank god I've got the giant ones from Victor Enterprises.

It is looking amazing so far! :mermaid kiss:
Oh, I meant the flared bottom. I didn't realise you planned on sequinning the whole thing! What a job!
So I am so uber excited and will be posting on here shortly on Tuesday about my mertailor tail that is on its way here as we speak :))) so excited for my first silicone tail!!
