It's so fabulous to have a real pod. And such a large one at that!
I wish there were mers in my region. I always wave and smile at every swimmer I meet underwater (you know, just me and them down there), and most just stare at me with a horrible frown before swimming off :(
My Octo-booby (as Sean has now named him) came in the mail today! I plan on doing a pretty photoshoot but I grabbed a few pics with my phone for now!

So are there any murmurs on when Raven might be taking orders again? I've made my mind up on the tail (basic with competitor upgrade and glitter topcoat) so yeah; just need to order! :D
So I put together some clips for a demo reel (guess that's what I'd call it) I was hoping to have better clips but until I can get hubby a better camera so he can actually help me film, I think this will have to do for now! Please tell me all what you think of the video as far as presenting it to prospective jobs and gig opportunities.

It's a basic with a competitor upgrade.
Phoenix, the tail looks amazing but if I might make some suggestions for your reel. People are hiring you for you and your personality as well as what you look like. It might be nice to get some shots of you interacting with the camera not just swimming. Take a look at what Melissa and Raven do in their tanks to give you some ideas. Just a suggestion!
Thank you Lynsea for the advice! (haha.... Lyn-Sea, i love it! ) I'm still working on collecting more photos and better swim clips, like flips, blowing bubbles, kisses and playing. I'll be able to capture better footage once I get a new camera.

I did do some interacting with the camera but it stopped filming after 10 minutes so I only got swimming shots and it missed everything else :headwall:

Ahw that's too bad! The quality is really good though :)! I wish I had one, I'm still practicing with a monofin and I would love to see my swimming! Did you ask friends or family to film you?

Yea the cam does pick up good quality video, the sound seems to have messed up since my last swim but I don't really need sound on that cam. I usually ask my fiance to film for me, but that was when I had a snorkel with a camera attached to it. He would just swim around with me and we got great shots and footage. But that one broke and the one I have now is a little hand held underwater camera. Nice specs and image quality but whoever is filming can't see a thing of what their filming, while the other snorkel cam is at eyesight & picked up whatever you saw through the goggles.Quote:

My main concern right now was that I had asked her about my monofin being cut a certain way when I had originally said that I want it uncut and have had zero luck on getting a response about that. :-/ It's kind of important to me.
Then, there's also the thing we talked about with her new method of hiding knees and heels. I never gave a straight yes or no about it because I had questions I really wanted answered first, and still no response. :-( I've brought it up in reply to emails that she sent me, but... :-/
I don't want her to build it, then I find out I didn't want that done and she has to take it apart. :-( Now she's sick and I feel really bad about e-mailing her. :<
What should I do? DX

I know this feel. I just want you to know, as someone who has felt super bad for feeling like they didn't communicate well enough or early enough leading to issues with their order, Raven is super professional about it. When it comes down to it, she doesn't care about having to redo things- she cares about the customer being happy with their tail. She knows she's essentially making people's dreams, and she pours herself into them! Even if that means having to redo seams, repaint, whatever. It just might take more time, but if you're willing to wait she's willing to make it happen :) From what I've seen, what makes her the happiest is when someone is happy with their tail! I think she would rather you bug her or have her redo than have you not be happy with it. And that's why she is astounding at what she does!Quote:

I'm hoping I can order an octotop soon. The other octopus, not the one Raina has. :-) I'm glad I didn't order it when I ordered my tail, though... my bra size sort of... well, I'm in the process of finding out my real size. XP It's changed since April. Not drastically, but enough to try to discover my new size.

Kailani, the way she is hiding knees and heels is in my tail, it's neoprene that is in there, it's not on my knees although that would have been cool, but it's in my heel area and so it's a little baggier around that area but it's also fantastic because I don't have to worry about my heels sticking through. Also, FINALLY posted my review of my new galaxy tail. Check it out!
Harmony - Oh? The way she talked about it was like it was brand new, and she adds mostly silicone rather than neoprene. I had been slightly concerned with buoyancy in those spots because she had mentioned neoprene. She assured me, though, that it is mostly silicone. So, I don't know if that's the same thing you have. *shrugs* if it is, cool!
