Maybe he wasn't winking at you.
Is your dad hot? ;)

That awkward moment when you are on the side of the pool putting on your tail, when a flood of little kids walk in and are seated on the bleachers and then you feel upset that your tail wasn't already on before they got there. I don't exactly like kids, but I do like the idea of appearing to be a real mermaid to them. I know when I was a little girl and got to sit on a mermaid's lap at Wiki Watchi, I was ecstatic!!
TAMW underwater one realizes she can go much much faster in a one piece swimsuit than any two piece bikini or tankini!
^^
what exactly is awkward about this?
Races are always swum in onepieces too, not bikinis :P
Oh. I've been swim testing different bras and sports tops with my Fin Fun tankinis.
Today, I wore a purple tankini from Kmart and over it, I wore my purple Fin Fun tankini. I wanted sturdier boob cups than the regular ones in the Fin Fun tankinis.
I must be an odd bod as the next size down, the tankini fits perfectly except there is less material around the boobs. The next size up fits but is not tight and just a little baggy... I figured I would just sew in a suitable bra or sports top so it feels more snug.
that awkward moment when you want to swim with your fin, but the waves are REALLY big, so you're stuck trying to find a calm spot... while walking around with a monofin like a twat >.<
Also, that awkward moment when you get home from swimming, and in the shower you realise that your bathers were filled with sand o.o
TAMW one is splashing and frolicking in the water polo end of the pool and remembers the Mermaid Name Generator...
TAMW one tries to remember her description but only comes up with "trouble in the shipping lanes..."
TAMW one thinks of the deep end as the shipping lane and all the other swimmers as cargo boats and sailing cruisers. With a few paddle boats (kids in floaties)!!
TAMW you're buying band-aids to restock the medical kit (yay having rough and tumble boys. I should buy stock in bandages) and the cashier sees the Bubble Guppies box "oh are those for your daughter?" "nope, for me" "but they're little mermaids" "and merboys. When grownup band-aids get cool mer pictures, I'll buy those"
TAMW I'm talking to a friend in the local wally world, and she said "I never figured out how to move with a monofin on."
And my inner mermaid took FULL CONTROL
and I started to "DRY SWIM" (doing the motions of swimming without the water)
And I finally realized why everyone stopped what they were doing to watch...
I WAS ESSENTIALLY DRY HUMPING POTATOES.
I proceeded to buy said potatoes, because I essentially tainted them...
at least you made honest potatoes out of them.
and now you can make a wicked potato dish
You two are both amazing; I quite like Bubble Guppies, monofin dry demonstrations (we used those teaching water safety too), and potatoes! :mermaid kiss:
TAMW you're so used to a monofin you forget how to use separate fins and keep hitting them together and looking that unco-ordinated your dad asks 'are you ok?'
TAMW youre lap swimming in a monofin and the person next to you asks if youre into "that mermaiding thing" then proceeds to give you a lesson about what it is, say its gaining popularity, and says something along the lines of 'What a shame you wont be special anymore.'
That awkward moment when you're trying on your first tail and your mum just stands there smiling;
"What?"
"Nothing..."
*sees she is still looking*
"What?!"
*mum simply shrugs*
*notices she is still looking*
"WHAT, MUM?!"
^^ This is why I don't involve my parents with my mermaid stuff anymore ._.
