Considering the fact I was not exactly a fan of him two years ago, it just feels weird. Things changed but still.. Weird.
That awkward moment when your Mom wakes you up and sees your monofin lying out on the floor with your fabric tail and instead of telling you what she woke you up for she says, "Oh so you are going to swim in your mermaid tail today at your bay party?" And you stare at her with both eyes half open and say, "Yeahh:$...So uhm what did you come in here to ask me?"
I am sure there will be more awkward moments today seeing how the friends coming today are not some of the ones I have told about mermaiding. :sweat drop:
That awkward moment when you forget to turn off your cell phone in accounting class and your phone goes off. And your ringtone is a dolphin chattering. And the entire class just stops. I had to laugh and told the professor, "pardon the porpoise in my purse", and he was like, "huh, must be a small porpoise".
(This next TAMW has to be prefaced with the fact that the indoor pool at my university is huge and surrounded by glass walls, so everyone can see in)
That awkward moment when you're enjoying a swim and you look up and one of your professors is at the glass just staring and trying to figure out why there is a mermaid in the pool. That even more awkward moment when the professor actually recognizes that you're one of his students and gets this priceless look of confusion and recognition on his face. :rotfl:

Oh god that awkward moment when a mermaid group shot is my desktop background and my Shakespeare professor sees it and says loudly: "OH MY GOSH! is that you!!? WILL YOU SEND ME THAT PICTURE?" Lol ok Dr. Park XD. Just plz give me an A!

Yeah, our pool is pretty epic! I'm a lucky mermaid! They included a picture of it in this New York Times article about cool university pools- it is the top photo on the article!

You go to a craft store to pick up lion's paws for a bra, and hold them onto your boob to see if it fits, only to be met by strange looks as you're seemingly fondling yourself with a shell haha.

TAMW you get all emotional because you have to say goodbye to your tail for about 3 weeks (it's going back to finfolk to get new fins and touch ups) like I'm more upset than I probably should be lol
Also TAMW you walk into a fairly busy UPS with a tail over your shoulder like "yeah I need to ship this mermaid tail to hawaii" and you get awkward stares.
TAMW someone reads your shirt that says "I'm really a mermaid" and basically this convo happens:
Girl: I love your shirt! I like to consider myself a mermaid too
Friend: Yeah but she's a REAL mermaid. She has a tail and everything
Girl: *stares awkwardly at me*
Me: yeah.. *awkwardly walks away*
