Okay, I'm just popping in here with a message for Ariel, but guys I reallllly wanna stress, I AM BUSY please stop messaging me about Raven, on every social networking platform... >.> It's not necessarily people in this thread but I know it's people reading this thread. I'm taking a break cuz I NEED it, and people are blowing up my social networking now and I'm still getting loads of PMs on here that give me email/phone notifications. (some people are messaging me here + instagram +facebook + youtube +twitter + emails- seriously!) I'm no one's secretary, and it bothers me that I get bugged to the point of intervening so I can get people to stop. :/ So please please please respect my boundary. I'm not pointing any fingers or naming names but people know who they are. It's just that I explained I'm busy and have a family member in the hospital and need to focus on my own life, I need people to respect that.
Ariel, I asked Raven about your stuff and your top is finishing up and she's literally in the middle of taking photos. As for the glue issue, everything she's been trying to test keeps curing before it can arrive with people, so she's testing out other glues that you may be able to get yourself and use. Personal advice: just keep working hard at taking care of your tail like you have been. Regular maintenance will prevent the silicone and neoprene from separating but understand this is a normal issue for all partial silicone tails. It's not a defect or bad craftsmenship or anything, it just happens sometimes. It happens with latex and neoprene tails too. Usually during the process of taking the tail on and off.
Also you've messaged me a few times about sending a photo, in the past year I have tried 3 times. I really appreciate your support, but I can't afford to send more and I really don't have anymore time to invest in it. I appreciate that you're willing to send me money but I've already spent a lot, and I'm just too busy, plus getting messages about it just adds to more messages I have to filter through right now. Maybe sometime in the future I can send you something high res and you can print it yourself.
As far as Raven goes, I hope people can appreciate while Kalani's tail was record setting for the wait. Raven chatted with me a lot about it while she was making it and it really stretched her as a tail maker. She's very proud of it, and I know Kalani will love it. She is still working on her orders and had deadlines to meet. SHe's shipping out a lot of tops soon too if you've been waiting. PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH HER AND PLEASE REMEMBER I AM NO LONGER DOING THE EMAILS BECAUSE I AM TOO BUSY MYSELF. Raven and I check in with each other right now maybe once a week if we both have time, but I will not be relaying anymore messages. If people feel the need to constantly send them to me (especially on multiple platforms and more than once) I'm at the point where I'm going to start blocking people. :/ there is PLENTY of information HERE in this thread. And Raven keeps her facebook page as updated as possible.

Really? I'm record setting for the wait?! Dang.... I know it's been a long wait, but it doesn't feel like it. Haha I am so proud of Raven and what she has done. Immensely proud and happy and excited and just don't have enough words to express how I feel and I don't even have the tail in my hands yet.
I hope the holidays don't cause too much of a delay! I know everyone is expecting me to have it at Merfest. >< So much anticipation!
But really, the wait is worth it. Even just for the pictures. I feel like I owe Raven so much for bring this tail to life. I will be forever in her debt for taking on this challenging design. I cannot say enough good about that girl. She strived to make it real and she did. :-)

As far as I know, nobody has a cut down competitor. If you want a floppier fluke then there aren't that many options...Foil, Finis Trainer, Oceanika, the custom monofins by Victoria...one of the Soft monofins from Leaderfins or the other places would be softer than the Finis version.
Ayla has a cut down Competitor in hers. She said when you hold it up to strong light you can see the end is in the shape of a heart. Her ends are floppy that way, but she still has a good kick. I'm pretty sure Raven later revealed it was indeed a Foil and she only thought it was a cut competitor due to an ordering mixup when she couldn't decide.
I have a cut down competitor in the tail I made. I honestly wouldn't suggest it. The edge of the blade is really obvious through the silicone. It doesn't look as natural as I had hoped it would be.
If it is heart shaped, then it is a cut down competitor. A foil is not heart shaped. I've seen one in person. XD it looks like a really fat duck foot. Hahaha
I remember her showing it in her video that it was cut down. I know she cuts them for her merbella fluke as it is. She cuts it down for all her flukes. My fluke is the only one that is barely, just barely cut down. So, yeah... I can't say for certain, but I'm fairly sure she has the cut down competitor.
As it stands, I can't really tell you yet what it's like. I suppose the wave is always an option. I've never had trouble with it.

That's hilarious! Maybe it was something you subconsciously did...I also loooooooooooooooooove Avatar and the Toruk was the first thing I thought of when I saw this tail! Anyway, it looks amazing. It also reminded me how at some point I really want to design a couple of Avatar-inspired tails; one based on an ikran (which I love) and also one based on the Na'vi skin pattern. Awww thanks! The fins were all custom done. She pretty much matched my design exactly. It's kinda freaky... in a good way! When I get it, I'll take comparison shots!

Okay, I'm flippin' excited! My grandma is probably going to send me money for Christmas to get an Octotop!!! And I was wondering if anyone knows what she needs besides measurements. I found this picture of a really unique octopus I love. And I've never ordered anything like this before, so any tips/comments? Also, I really like her accessories like headpieces and arm bracers but have no idea how much they are. Any help here? And I know this isn't as extravagant as a tail, so I don't think the manufacturing time is as long, but how long is it approximately? And for the accessories?

Caspiana, I ordered a seaweed top. The only measurements I gave were my bra size and cup size. The waiting time for it was almost 4 months (I ordered it on August 20 something). I still haven't got it, although I had a mail this morning saying it had been shipped.Quote:

Most orders Raven sends I believe come with some sort of little gift, but it'd probably be best to ask Raven directly what the pricing is for a necklace, bracelet, clip, etc.
