Tamw you and lily are exchanging emails an she asks you for your hip and butt measurements for your tail.., and you send only the butt because you thought your hip and butt measurements were the same, but you realized they weren't when your husband fondles you before bed and you're like "OH so that's what she meant!"
TAMW you're visiting a group of preschoolers, and one kid manages to lift up the "V" shaped scaly part that slides over the fluke of your partial silicone tail, and sees the metal clips that connect the ankle strap to the fluke. And calls you out on it in front of 20 other preschoolers. And you have to improv something that sounds good really fast. It went something like this:
KID: THERE'S METAL BARS GOING THROUGH YOUR TAIL!!! What is that? I thought you said you were real!
ME: :sweat drop:
*20 preschoolers stare at you*
ME: Ummm, you know how some humans pierce their ears?
KID: Yeah?
ME: Well, us mermaids sometimes get our tails pierced! It's a fin-ring!
KID: Oh, okay.
Whew! Thank goodness I can think on my feet... er, fins. :phew:
Thanks, Keiris! My improv skills got a workout today hahaha! The same kid asked me why mermaids have bones, if I had ever been stung by a jellyfish, and if mermaids burp ROFL! I could write a book with all the funny and strange questions that kids ask me!
OceanWhisper, not really sure either... maybe you can save them on your computer and import them into iTunes somehow? I bought my tone from the iTunes store app on my iPhone so it automatically appeared in my ringtones.
That awkward moment when you fall asleep in your tail and wake up to your alarm going off. You try to get up to turn it off like usual and end up flopping onto the floor like a fish out of water... Then actually wake up and realize it was only a dream and you don't even have a tail yet...
That awkward (insanely annoying) moment when in middle school everyone made fun of you for being a mermaid but now in highschool all those girls are posting "I'm really a mermaid" or "wishing I was a mermaid" things :eye twitch: :headwall:
Ugh so frustrating >_< These girls have absolutely no idea! My fear is that they'll buy tails and make it some big popular girl thing -_-
^pretty sure this is already happening, sadly. :(
I know that feeling, it's like having a love for mermaids is a trend or something now. But oh well! If they're just doing it because of the trend then they will slowly show less interest as it goes "out of style"
i feel like the trend just rises a bit in the year. thing is now the trend is looking towards moms cuz im seeing more "how to make mermaid tails for your kids" tutorials around.
i feel like the mermaid love usally increases in the winter for some reason
TAMW one finds out who the head lifeguard is, and its not who she thinks it was!
TAMW he eyeballing her as she swims across all lanes turning tricks underwater.
Honestly, I haven't told anyone about my mermaiding dreams because I'm terrified of this happening. I feel so selfish, but I know I can't control it if it does become a trend at my school. I just don't want so seem like someone that follows trends, you know? * so glad someone else feels like this*
I never told anybody about my interests until after highschool because they honestly weren't worth my time or trouble.
Yup^^^ I'm not even going to tell my parents about wanting to do it professionally until I'm out of school, because my mum works in a primary school (would start trend on purpose) and kinda *mocks* my interests, (by making them seem less serious and making fun of them) and also, I can't get a silicone tail that I'd like to use professionally until I've finished growing. Soooo... I'm just hanging out for the time I turn 20ish :/
Anyway, (rant over lol) let's get back to T.A.M.W :)
Be careful telling people in general. I lost a teaching job because they found out I was mermaiding professionally. Felt it didn't reflect well on the school. Legally they couldn't make me stop but I was told I would not be invited to retire the next year and, since I wasn't tenured yet, they had every right to do that, for whatever reason they wanted.
