That awkward moment when a guest comes into the disneystore going gaga ariel and mermaids and goes "did you know mermaiding was a thing?" and before i could answer, my lead and buddy of mine goes "actually yes we have a mermaid over here" and points over to me. and then she goes over swimmable mermaid tails and says "did you know those exist?" and again my lead goes "yes in fact she has one!" and i'm all like "i knew about it before you did. hashtag mermaid hipster. it's too current" they both started dying. then i went on explaining how they work and the girl goes "i literally just saw them on the news today i didnt know it was a thing but i'm sure you knew about it longer since youre one :P" and so i goes "it's been around for a while :P"
That awkward moment when on the way to work, you meet in the subway one of your favorite gay pornstars you used to fantasize a lot and you sit right next to him...

That awkward moment when you realise Australian Mers take things rather seriously and you find yourself forming a mer-gang.
That awkward moment you go swimming at a spring and you decide to surprise divers by swimming down to them and the divers never turn to look at you they just keep facing & swimming forward and never turn their heads. I guess they were too serious for mermaid fun. :p
That awkward moment when youre helping a guest at the disneystore with their towel purchases and they tell you they're going to halifax and you immediately think theyre gonna go swimming with Mermaid Raina so you ask them and theyre like "THERE ARE MERMAIDS IN HALIFAX?" and you shamelessly insert info about the Halifax mermaids and where to find them.
then as they leave you hear the dad going "GUYS THERE'S MERMAIDS IN HALIFAX!!!"
