Actually Arion, that tail would look pretty awesome on YOU! Especially since you have a penchant for blue fins judging by your own tail. It's pretty exotic.
That does make things a little complicated. Raina, I sent her an email to this address: merbellastudios@gmail.com ... I didnt know Ash was gunning after it too. I really want this tail though. I dont want to be selfish, but the moment I saw that first picture I just HAD to have it. If she sells it, maybe she should put it at auction so we all have a fair chance? I dont want to loose out on something I really want because someone saw the post before me, but I also dont want to push anyone down a flight of stairs just to get something I want, if you know what I mean.
you should ask her to put it to auction if she sells it :) good idea. great way to be fair.

Honestly, I think priority goes to those who don't have a full silicone tail yet but if you all feel like an auction will be the solution, oh well, who am I to disagree?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm more of a classic merman myself. For some reason this ultra exotic design just reads a little more masculine to me. I guess because in nature a lot of times the males have more contrast in their fins, feathers and fur. It would still look great on you! :-)

Since she said she might keep it for herself I compared it to the measurements of the other tail she recently sold, but that is just a guess....
top-ankles: 40, top-hips: about 9, top- knees:25, waist: 24, hips:34 , knees: 20, and ankles: 14
Arion, I get what you're saying. As I am in the process of designing my tail, I'm not sure where the boundary is going to be from classic to exotic. I much prefer a more classic fluke and dorsal. I guess in my clothing I tend toward classic with an edge but for a fantasy creature I may go a little more balls to the wall. Does that make sense?

No doubt. The moment scales and fins obscure the look of two legs it's going to pretty much read fantasy creature no matter what colors, stripes or fin shapes are involved. Do you think you will alter the appearance of your blue tail in the future?

I understand thinking that it would be fair if Ash got it, but anyone could always purchase a tail if they have the money for it. I have the impression that Ash will get a tail, but this tail is clearly a very special tail and I want a shot at it too. Additionally, we don't even know yet whether or not measurements will be right for either of us anyway! Regardless, Raven said she's always wanted to put one of her original designs to auction and this is the perfect chance. If she sells it, she'll be auctioning it. Its fair for everyone who wants it AND Raven. The tail was $3,650.00, but with an auction she'll more than likely get a chunk more than that as compensation for her incredible mastery of her craft. After putting it on auction, there isn't even a way to guarantee Ash or I will get it. This is good for Raven though, and if I don't get it I'll just commission something similar (but not too similar) from her when she has some slots available. This isn't about winning, and although I do like to be fair I consider this more of an art auction. I apologize if any of that seems heartless, but it's quite the opposite for me. I love the way that tail looks and I would be doing a disservice to myself by not pursuing it. I would probably regret it for a long time, and regret sucks. If I loose an auction, then at least I know I tried and had shot just as fair as everyone else's. Or maybe i'm just a mean person in denial.

I think the auction is a good idea cause, just chucking it out there, I kinda want that tail too and I don't think it's fair at all to be calling dibs on it through a forum site that not all of her clients use. Email, slightly different matter and on that note you two won't likely have to worry about me too much because I'm on the larger side when it comes to tails. I love looking at all the pretty tails Raven is reselling but they're all miles too small for me. I would love it if it fit, and was within my budget but at the same time I doubt it will happen just because of the sizing.
Yeah, we really do need to know sizing. (If she is even selling it)
