I saw that too, but she's just a kid who really wants a tail. She's a member on here too so it's a good idea to try to remember how excited kids can get! It's a really beautiful tail so I do understand how it would be easy to get over excited at her age! :)Quote:

And the tail too big in circumference, and too short in length.

I'm a size 8, but I have very wide feet and I got a large and it's VERY comfortable. The Medium according to Finis website fits female america sizes 7.5-9, with the large going 9.5-11.

No, it just hides auto bids from general view, so if someone is auto bidding (set a price and ebay bids for them) then you wouldnt see those bids.

I think she makes tails because its her passion and she loves making people happy. She did number crunching just to see how to give a lower price on tails so people could afford them. There's a chance she'll charge more for custom but I doubt she will raise the prices. Even if she does it's worth so much more than she charges right now.
We're up to 5,000.00 on the tail.
The tail on its own would be at least 4k if someone commissioned it with all those extra fins and stuff but then the top and custom matching accessories plus one of a kind fin molds and scale sculpt

If people start bidding towards the end, like usual on ebay, then I wouldn't be surprised if it went to 8k. I'm guessing it'll go for around 7 though, mainly because not a lot of people have 8 lying around.

whoa whoa folks. the tail, if you commissioned it, would still cost around 4k at least. Her tails are 3k plus several hundred dollars extra for all the extra fins and trimming. Plus you've got the whole extra custom ensemble there via top and accessories. I think that's actually an accurate price to what someone would pay and if anything she's only getting a couple 100 or more, (though it's free shipping in US so not really?). And still less than a MVD tail. :p If I had 5k right now, I'd be buying it. lol I was agonizing to Raven because I *was* expecting to have around that now, but it's running late so I couldnt bid ;)
The tail would SELL for over four thousand. Cost is a completely different issue. Materials cost is just part of the equation. One does have to consider the labor and the talent involved, artistic ability, years of product development, etc...but many of those considerations go into every tail she makes going forward. Make no mistake, though, 4k also represents a decent profit. Not a mere couple hundred bucks.
My comment was a comment on how people bid on things on ebay, or any auction, for that matter, not the thing being bid upon.
Im not saying it isn't worth that, Im just staying if I were to spend that much money on a tail I would want it to 100% fit me.
I'm not accusing you two of anything :p I'm just breaking it down for people reading the thread. By cost I mean "cost you" compared to her other tails, not her costs.
But I also know how much it cost Raven, because it was intended for someone else who backed out after putting all this extra work/time into it. So I'm glad she'll be compensated by whoever wins the bid after that whole ordeal.
