So from what I understand, they've moved to Hawaii, right? Their shipping is going to cost a FORTUNE now.

I know I'm not alone in wanting multiple tails from multiple makers. I'd love to have a tail for every kind of gig, or, you know, one for each day of the week. :P
Shipping already cost me a fortune, I live in Australia! Haha makes a good excuse to visit them in Hawaii tho

This was my first thought too...for us Americans anyway, and it might be upped too for otherworldly members too but I'm not a shipping expert either, so. :P
Still though, I get the weather will be way nicer for making tails and the photo-shoot opportunities on Hawaii but the shipping costs are going to be pretty detrimental to business imo. :/
Not only are shipping costs going to skyrocket, their materials costs are going up as well, because shipping dragonskin to Hawai'i ain't gonna be cheap, either...and those buckets are HEAVY!
for all worrying about shipping... http://community.ebay.com/t5/Shippin...ii/td-p/839090
^that said, shipping prices vary DRASTICALLY on wether or not you ask for tracking and insurance. I would assume that the girls add tracking to all of their tails, seeing as that's a HUGE financial loss if the courier loses it. That also said, the shipping prices for their materials might not be such a big added cost. They did say they would be increasing tail prices, but seeing as they had the cheapest full silicone tail on the market by about $500, that's not awful in my opinion.
They also posted that they would be absorbing some of the shipping costs, not sure if that only applies to the clients who ordered before they closed for the move or not, but it's a nice thing to do.

Assuming a 50 lb. box, 40" x 30" x 10", not including boxing it up ("handling" charges...this is just for cost of postage).
I'd hate to see them entrust a work of art like that to the US Postal Service. Much prefer UPS or Fed Ex.
So, I got to go swimming today... (probably the last time for the season...) and I may, or may not have taken a ton of pictures.
but it was a good day to relax in the sun:

Hey all!
Here are a couple of answers to your questions (and worries) regarding shipping. :)
We always ship UPS. Shipping costs will be slightly higher, but not substantially more expensive than long-distance continental. Remember that shipping will always vary depending on insurance and your location in the continental US. Our overall tail prices will see a small increase to defer our new supply costs, but these increases would have happened regardless of our move. For clients nearing production, some shipping costs may be absorbed - these are agreements between us and each individual client, and are based on their private, financial situation.
Relocating was the best choice for us and our company! The pros far outweigh any cons, including much faster, consistent production in the winter months. We're excited for the new inspiration and opportunities Hawaii will bring, and are ever grateful for your love and support!
Much Mer-love,
A&B
Hope you ladies all the best, and can't wait to see more pics of you swimming in that beautiful Hawaii water!

I'm happy for you, FinFolk! As a fellow Up Norter who loves visiting Hawaii, I completely understand the siren call of Aloha! Wishing you tropical inspiration and great success in your new island home.
And I'm excitedly awaiting my FinFolk Aurora Borealis tail, inspired by the icy Northern Lights and soon(?) to be born in the caress of warm Hawaiian breezes!
And HUZZAH about shipping! :)
