I've been following her IG and seeing the progress on the tail so when I saw the unboxing I was crying with her! So happy for her! It's a true work of art!

Hello lovelies,
Does anybody have a template for Finfolk tails? My slot is coming up and I just wanted to make one final design with a real template. I'm specifically looking for the Loreena or Calypso?
They have an opening available? I'm sure they'll send you one once you place your order.
Knockoff Calypso tail?

That looks like Syrenas first tail?

The ice tail they just took in again for a touch up?

There is a copycat company that has recreated finfolk designs. I think they're located in France? They're etsy based. I'll see if I can dig up the shop.
But yeah, they make obvious finfolk duplicates.

Think these are digital prints on fabric.

I'm loving the doubled up ankle fins they've been doing.
How do they look when swimming? I haven't seen a video of them in action yet
Yeah
I'm keeping an eye out to see if there's any in the water. I love that idea of double fins! Tempted to do it too!

Can't the mers who came up with the individual designs claim copyright at least or something?
Regarding the double heel fins, did you guys know my tail was actually the first to have those, three years ago? Mine are slightly different than the ones they're doing now, which I appreciate, because it means mine are still unique :) The new ones they're doing are a bit larger. But I love mine, I think they hide my heels extremely well, better than most other heel fins I've ever seen, actually. I'm sure I've posted this video before (I don't have many swimming videos because I personally suck at making them), but this video by Lovely Lorelei shows how they look while I'm swimming:

I'd definitely love to see how the new style looks in the water, though!
Also....those copycats seriously piss me off. Come up with your own freaking ideas, people!!
That copying is insane. With the fact that it's direct copying from a photo of the tail wouldn't at least the copyright on the photo itself be enough to do something about this?
It's official, Finfolk does some of the best heel fins! The placement, the way they move in the water... really hides those feet!
Does anyone know if there are action shots (or hopefully underwater video!) of the amazing yellow-purple-pink starry galaxy tail they did not too long ago? It had mini flukes on the fluke..? Would love to know how they look in the water. If someone could direct me toward the owner of that tail I'll be happy to do my own stalking, er, RESEARCH!
YEESSS! I'm loving the double heel fins!!!
I'm VERY curious who had the starry night galaxy tail! I have been looking around for it but no sign of it. I think it was shipped to a mer in Australia!

Its so great.
I'm so jealous of whoever got this tail.
I had a dream last night that the owner of this tail had a HUGE pool filled to the brim with pink lemonade, and all of the videos she posted were of her swimming in pink lemonade.
Pregnancy dreams are weird, but I totally see where my brain got the lemonade thing.

Screenshot of a slo-mo video tail flip from @hayhaydi of the Wands and Wishes Mermaids! It's super cute and a good reference for how the tails flip flop! You can go to @wwmermaids IG for the regular speed video!

Pearlie, I believe they mean this one: https://www.instagram.com/p/_Ps5Betk...olkproductions
I love Fifi's starry night tail too, though. I think it's awesome how a similar concept can be interpreted in such different ways :)
I know everyone was dying over these tails, so I thought I'd share. Wands & Wishes posted a teaser pic on their fb page (and I did get permission to share it here):

For those who have their tails, do you recommend the tail end at your waistline or maybe lower at the hip area? Pros and cons? The waistline/belly button area looks most popular. I think I saw somewhere someone had theirs at the waist but cut to a V-style in the front so when they sit upright, it won't ride up to your chest but idk how swimming with that style would be. Thoughts?

I HIGHLY suggest going up to the waist. If you want it shorter, you can carefully trim back a few scales at a time, but you can't add scales if your tail is too short! Also, if you're in a hurry and can't get your tail all the way up, having a higher waist means you won't be showing off your bum.
I'm going to agree with the "leave it longer" crowd. I tried to get it to stop on my hips, and ended up getting the measurements wrong. First time I tried my tail on, I had the whole "plumber's crack" thing going on. The Twin's were super awesome about everything, but it was expensive to get it sent back and forth. Easier/safer to leave some extra space, and cut to fit once you've put it on a few times.
Thanks Lorelei, PearlieMae, and Marlin for your feedback!!! That helps a lot! I will go for the high waisted style. I hope I don't mess up the measurement because I want it to fit like a glove!!!

I've been meaning to post my review for like almost a year haha! I put my review up on my blog, along with pics that show the original design, then the stages in the tail being painted, and then the finished product: http://www.mermaidandink.com/blog/me...tions-a-review
My tail (now known as The Duchess on account of how she's so high maintenance) was one of the earlier rounded-scale tails, painted in autumn purple/green/gold colours. I got her last July, having waited about 15 months in the end I think. The wait was a bit frustrating of course, but it did mean that I had the chance to get the rounded scale design which they created in the meantime, as well as a top. Overall I gave Finfolk 4.5 stars for the whole experience.

The only underwater footage I have of her is from performing in an aquarium last summer (you can see me meeting this cute guitar shark who totally surprised me by coming out of nowhere!). It was just taken from a camera on the walkway in the aquarium so you can't really appreciate the colours alas:
