Just had my first photo shoot! Ahhh!! So excited! The pictures turned out really well. So happy :D

About 2 days before attending a local sci-fi fantasy convention, I had the urge to create a new look for this tail, and get photos. So armed with the scraps from the creation of the tail, I whipped up a 1940s style "sunbathing dress", inspired by one I'd seen on Betty Grable.
Lucky for me, the hotel had a really pretty pool and my talented friend and fellow geek, Mary Anne Butler had her camera at the ready.
More photos are on the way, but these are the teasers she sent me this evening.

To add to the awesome setting, another friend of ours was playing a ukulele nearby. It was like a little slice of Hawaii in San Jose ;)

I love how this makes it look like a one piece tail! The top half turned out so well, I'm thinking of making a matching pair of gold booty shorts for underneath, so I can wear it alone as a super glam 1940s bathing suit :)

The water was too murky to do any underwater photos, but we got some good out-of-water photos. My first photo shoot- complete! :D

Freyja I am in love with your hair! The gold is a good color on you. :-) Isla I like that last picture of you underwater, it looks cool.

Yes, you could say it's my Brisingamen ;) I hardly ever take it off.
It has two raven heads on each end (Hugin and Munin). They are sort of my 'spirit totem'.

Just had to share. This was taken pre-photoshoot.
This was one of those beautiful moment. I was sunning myself on a quiet, deserted beach and this little girl came out of no where. She came running up to me with her jaw on the ground and then stopped dead in front of me, spun around and bolted back to her parents screaming (in German), and dragging her sister to come and see. Cutest little girls. I bet they never expected to see a mermaid on their Aussie holiday.Attachment 30039

I bet that is going to be remembered as one of the best trip moments ever by those little girls!
