That Awkward Moment When: Mermaid Edtion!

TAMW you realize you have actually taken a group photo with the guy who has your pic hung on his door... but didn't realize it til looking through photos just now

Ha! Wow, Sirenia. That's great.

That awkward moment when you're talking to someone and they say "So, I noticed your name is Starfrit ;)"

And then you worry that they're gonna judge you for taking your mermaid name from a brand of cookware, so you start rambling on and on about the funny-but-not-funny-not-even-in-the-"you-had-to-be-there"-sense story about how you came across the name while reorganizing the cookware aisle in the department store you worked at and how the name just kind of stuck

And they're just like, "... Oh. I just meant that I'd always read it as Starfruit up until now..."

... :|

This did not occur to me.

I am not a smart mermaid.

You know... That's how I first read it up until a few weeks back. I had to look up, who this "Starfrit" was that kept replying to some threads like Tieri...:lol::$

Because I don't really notice the avatars. Mostly, I know who is who, by the gifs in their signatures, at the bottom of each and every post!

I thought of star fruit too. And now I want star fruit dammit tieri!!!

I didn't even know he was married until last night when I saw a clip of him happily spinning around dressed as Elsa.

Also, that awkward moment when you accidentally scare one of your cats with your gorilla tape monofin while using it as slippers to keep your feet warm because you're too lazy to go find socks.

Then that other awkward moment when you check on your future merbaby and then back into your big cup of Sprite on the coffee table and spill it all over the floor because you don't know how to look where you're going. -_-'

Same here, but I don't find it awkward. I think my family and friends are sooo used to it.

I did also think, "Hey is that the lady from Witches of East End?" and "I still have no idea who Channing Tatum is."

Not an awkward moment exactly but very funny so I thought I'd share it here.

I was chatting to my little sister (all three of us are mermaids) about how one of the things I want do most as a mermaid is scare or surprise people...
Me: it'd just be fun to swim up to someone who's fishing and say 'hey! No fishing!
Sister: yeah! You could say 'don't do that! You'll catch my sister! Then I could wave my fin at them!

Best moment! Have her a hi-five for that one! :D

That video is going to haunt my nightmares; while, being intersexed, I could never grow facial hair like that, I can only imagine how having a fish tail rather than primary sexual characteristics might affect one's hormones....
