So sorry that someone stole from him. I've had my truck and my apartment broken into before and stuff taken, and it is such a scary thing.
Cans of that value can take a lot of room, trust me I've tried it.
Just got off the phone with a debt collector who informed me that I have something like 13 unpaid student loans. Meanwhile I was under the impression that I had them consolidated into 3 and was paying towards all of them monthly. Really stressed, pissed, and upset... I wish I hadn't bothered to go to college at all. It certainly hasn't helped me get a "real" job so what was the effing point.
Asus took 6 months to fix my computer. Sent it back with no battery or power cord.... Just sent me half of a power cord with the part that plugs in missing and still no battery. Lmao it is becoming funny at this point. Asus are you trolling me?!
We tried getting him to lock his stuff up before, and sadly it's pretty hit and miss. It's very hard because he's not all there all the time, like, in his mind. He's locked himself out of our house a few times because he left his keys on his bed but locked the door behind him, likewise I've come home a few times to find that he left the door unlocked and his window open.
I also don't think that my dad would buy him the bin, just because my dad is like flippin' Spahani and Mashhadi combined. If he did buy him the bin, he'd give him a huge lecture about how he should have seen it coming, then make my grandpa feel like he owed him, which my grandpa hates (hence why he asked me for the money and told me about the cans and not my dad)
^ whats Spahani and Mashhadi? i tried googling it but nothing came up.
They're referencing people from cities in Iran. I don't really know what the English equivalent would be short of "a mean cheap tightwad asshole"
But somehow more than that.
It sounds like something to eat! ;) hehehe!
I want to use them in conversation, but I learned my lesson when I asked a Danish friend how to say "I'm very pleased to meet you" (so I could greet an artist my company was representing), and instead, and much to my embarassment, he taught me to say "You have p***y hair in your nose."
I must confess I've been THAT asshole before. To be fair though, the girl I did it to actually was trying to hit on someone I had told her weeks before that I liked. And she was trying to hit on him by lying to him and saying she was Persian. So... She got what she deserved. :neener:
I've never been such an asshole though that I've done it just out of the blue to a friend.
Update on my pain.
Sprained rib. Such. Fucking. Fun.
How did you hurt your ribs?
Post surgery I had to sleep sitting up for like two weeks on the couch and the day before it started hurting I woke up upside down on the floor with my legs still on the couch. I was all twisted up,.
Alright, you can ignore this comment if you want, it just feels better to type out frustrations.
So this week my church is running a little day camp at a park for all the elementary aged kids. It consists of 9 days, 8 hours a day of going on hikes, yelling at the kids, and getting dogpiled after yelling at said kids over (duriing which yesterday I got a concussion because one kid jumped straight on the side of my head with his knee). A bunch of people in high school and college like to help out and lead all of the groups. I was put with the Kindergarten group, which is great because I love hanging out with little kids.
Now is the point where I have to backtrack for context: I have extreme anemia, because of that I have a lot of problems with body temperature, specifically in my hands. So, when it's warm outside, I'm fine, but as soon as it gets a bit chilly, my hands will feel super cold to the touch. I can't feel it much, but they get, like, abnormally cold.
Okay, back to day camp. So, I met my group on Monday and they were all really great kids, and we all seemed to like each other (you can tell if they like you by how many kids try to get piggybacks from you at the same time). The first few days were really hot out, and we all had a lot of fun, but then Thursday we went on a little field trip to the zoo and it started to rain. It had already been pretty chilly that morning, and we knew that would happen. I have had a lot of kids kind of freak out because they will want to hold my hand, and then pull their hand away really quickly because mine is really cold, so I decided to wear gloves that day. It was fine during the morning, we all went to as many places we could while I had a kid on each leg, two on my back, and four of them all trying to hold my hands at the same time. Everyone had agreed to stop for lunch in the same place so we could do a headcount of the kids.
Now for a slightly smaller rant that sort of ties in with this. There is one kid who always volunteers to lead at the day camp. Let's call him Steve. He is technically too young to actually volunteer, but he is the kid of one of the pastors at our church, so he automatically gets to do it. Steve is 13 years old and, quite frankly, has the humor and attention span of a four year old. The rest of the leaders pretty much treat him as a kid at the camp because he doesn't actually take care of the kids, he just wants to boss them around. For example, at the little 'training' session for all the new leaders before the camp started, we were going around and saying what we were most excited for, and he specifically said he wanted one of his kids to get hurt and go to the hospital so he could fill out one of the long accident reports. He also said he was excited for all of the troublesome kids so he could give them time-outs. The next thing he talked about was all of the ways that he knows how to cheat at the games we play with the kids (things like capture the flag, scavenger hunts, etc.). He also likes to play 'pranks'. And by 'pranks' I mean stealing things from people and not give them back. I have literally had to drive to his house because he took my phone one morning, didn't give it back, and then went home with it. Okay, now back to the story once again.
So we were all eating lunch on the grass, and it was still raining out. Everyone had their umbrellas out so we wouldn't get drenched, and I had put on an extra few sweaters, as well as helped the kids get their sweaters and jackets on. Steve then came up to my group of kids and tried to convince the kids to put their jackets on upside down (to which my kids just ignored him, thank goodness), and then actually took a sweater from one of my kids backpacks without asking, and brought it over to one of his kids. I calmly went over to him and asked for it back, and instead of being a normal, sensible person and giving it back, Steve grabbed my arms and tried to push me down on the ground. I pulled away, but when I did, my gloves came off in Steve's hands. I then resorted to begging and bribery to get my gloves back, but he didn't give them back and instead took my umbrella and the jacket was sitting on and then told his kids they were finished lunch (which they had just started not even 5 minutes ago). So here I am with ten kindergarteners, six of which were just holding onto my previously warm-feeling hands. I had originally thought to find another leader so we could maybe have two groups together, so I could watch the older kids and she could take the six that were holding my hand, but then I noticed that Steve had left a kid behind. So, I took my group and went off to bring the kid back to Steve. Along the way, one of my kids asked to hold my hand. I told her it would be cold, and when she took it, she screamed and flinched back. All of them did that. I didn't find Steve (turns out he had taken them to a part of the zoo where our group wasn't allowed and nearly missed the bus).
I still have today left, which I am going late because I am sick (possibly from being too cold???), but yesterday none of the kids would talk to me or listen. The other days, we would always do piggybacks and they would always try to hold on to my leg or hand, but all of them seem scared of me now. I feel awful, but there's nothing I can do about it. I heard one of the older girls (grade 5 or 6) talk to their sibling who is in my group, and then she and all of her friends start referring to me as the 'vampire girl'. None of the kindergarteners really knew my name (which is fine, they're kindergarteners, and they always just called me 'teacher' anyways), but yesterday, I heard few of my kids talking to another leader asking where I was (I was walking towards them), and when the other leader asked who they were talking about, they all said 'the one with the cold hands!' and the 'vampire girl'. All of the kids look at me like a freak now, and when the director of the day camp (who I know quite well) found out about it,she pulled me over and said I might not be able to volunteer next year to be a leader if this happens again! Like, what the heck!! I told her about Steve and how he took my gloves, but she didn't seem very interested.
I don't really now what to do now. I have been a leader for the day camps for 5 years now, and just because an idiot took my gloves on a cold day, I can't do it anymore? Ugh, it just makes me mad.
Sorry about the super long rant!
Lostariel, you need to sit down with this kid's parents and lay out this entire story. That kid sounds like he has some serious bullying problems.
How attached are you to this gig?
Hahaha! Did you teach her to say "I have a scorching case of herpes"?
The Danish friend was a friend of the artist, and I later found out he was in on the joke.
Your camp leader should be trying to help those kids understand, not keep you from coming back because they're calling you vampire girl. Did she know that you have trouble with anemia? Ours like she's saying it's your fault that those kids are being unkind.

Buahaha, sadly, no. I'm kicking myself for not having thought that. I told her to tell him she had two vaginas. The way Farsi is gendered in some ways, I made her say it in the rudest way possible for a girl, in a "sexy" voice and while she wrapped her arm around his waist like he was a girl and they were already dating/married. The guy was just so appalled that this girl came up to him and then touched him and said that... It accomplished my goal, he was so horrified he avoided her and I got him. :D
Yeah, they do know about it. I've had to say something about it every year to them, and previous years there wasn't anything wrong with it.
I have talked to his parents and the camp directors about it. Literally every other leader except him and his brother feel the same way I do, but no one really seems to do anything about it. I'm just frustrated because they're keeping him on, and they want to kick me out because my freaking hands get cold. :gah:
Lostariel, do these people realize the kind of legal trouble you could catch them in for discriminating against you because of your anemia? They are seriously building themselves a legal coffin and all you would have to do is put a lid on it.
