Hello mermaids, mermen and fellow mermaid lovers!
We are producing a 25-minute stop-motion animated short called Mermaids on Mars. The story is about a young boy who travels to Mars and meets the lest three remaining mermaids on the planet and tries to save them from the clutches of an evil Martian intent on capturing them.
We are soon wrapping the animation and moving into post-production. The crew for this film includes animators and other artists worked on Coraline, Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, Corpse Bride and other great films.
The celebrate mermaids everywhere we will be featuring pictures of some real-life mermaids in the film's end credit roll. If you, your children, or your pets have mermaid costumes and would like to be considered to be the end credits we would love to get a couple of high resolution pictures of you in your costume. If your picture is chosen we will contact you and send a release form to use it in the film. You can send your pictures to mermaids@athenastudios.com We cannot included everyone I am afraid
