Hello everyone!
Hey there! :) just like Madison, I've been on here for a while but I hadn't introduced myself "properly" yet so... there it goes!
My name is Maria, a 23-year-old mermaid born and raised in Mallorca, Spain.
I am a vegan, photography student, bookworm, beach lover, Tumblr addict and I also take circus classes (aerial silks, lyra and trapeze).
I am an eating disorder and depression survivor (Heeeeeell yes! Is that badass or what!) so now I am trying to make the most of everything to make it up for all the years I wasted being sick.
Anyway, I made myself a fabric tail a few months ago but I am not very happy with it (you can actually see the shape of my legs through it when it's wet...) so I am trying to save enough money to buy a proper silicone tail.
Greetings from Spain! My dog/daughter Celia says hi!

Hi and welcome!
I've been to Mallorca once, back in 2001 :D
Legs showing through typically happens to all fabric tails. Don't feel rushed to get a silicone tail just for that, it's not a must for being a mermaid. ;)

Hi, Moonchild! I just pm-ed you about possibly networking and I hadn't realized you'd posted this thread. I am also a vegan who once struggled with an eating disorder! So good to know there are others out there with similar backgrounds. Overcoming an eating disorder, and depression, is HUGE. Don't let anyone underestimate the strength and courage that requires. Congratulations. Good luck with your tail and I hope you are able to make some great connections in this community ;)
If you don't mind me asking, where do you like to swim? You mentioned a fear of sharks, so I'm guessing not the ocean. . .

Hi Ginger! Wow! We have so much in common!!
Actually I do swim in the sea :) It took me years to master the art of just "not thinking" while I am in the water but I did it! Hahahahahaha the water is very clear here in Mallorca and there's not much to be afraid of in the Mediterranean Sea... thank God! I once had a panic attack while swimming though because a friend of mine thought it would be funny to mention sharks to me and it was awful! God, I almost drowned... but seriously, years ago I wasn't able to swim in pools either because the phobia was so strong!!
