I'd love to get together sometime! It'd be nice to find a good place to swim as mers. I don't know any around here though.

Well, in Ocean City they have a nearly waveless beach and seashell filled sandbars we could chill on :)! Is that too far for you?
Not really. It'd be a hike but not out of the realm of possibility.
If not there is always rehoboth beach, DE or Bethany beach, DE if they would work better 4 u :)

Guys, which Ocean City? There are at least two of them (New Jersey and Maryland). Rehoboth is cool (I had no idea it was a gay hotspot until I visited it one summer), and I really like Bethany (though the beaches are kinda small.

I vote the aquarium 1) because I just love the aquarium and 2) it would be a way to include us tail-less mers.
(I'm assuming you're talking about the national aquarium in Baltimore?) And on a more selfish note, It's closer to me and much easier to explain to my parents.
Yeah, I was thinking the Baltimore aquarium, actually. From what I can tell, it's an okay midway point for most of us. It's about a two hour drive for me, but I don't mind <3
I love the Baltimore Aquarium. I might be in DC in early June, but have no concrete plans yet.

I must say that baltimore is to far for me, it's almost 3 hours away O_o
I'll be in DC from June 3-8.
not that i can join, however have any of you considered camping/meeting at assateague island? its only 15mins away from OC, you get the bonus of wild ponies, and i bet the park rangers would LOVE LOVE LOVE you if ya did some clean up time over there. (there is a national park area and state park area)
just an idea.
Assateague would be cool! I wouldn't be able to go, but it would still be awesome!

I'm in DC now :) Went to the Baltimore National Aquarium again. That place is still awesome and I got some great new ideas to apply to my mermaiding. Also heard that they stopped doing dolphin shows and are opting for a new kind of experience, which is pretty exciting. That aquarium and the one in NY are definitely my top two on the east coast.

Oh they've already started, but it's sort of like, in the tentative, trying-to-see-how-it-works kind of phase. The dolphins are still there, but it's just that instead of an animal show where they are doing tricks, it's more educational, and getting close/personal with the animals. They share how they train them and how they act in the wild and stuff like that. They were doing something special for the school kids visiting while I was there so I never got to see what it was really like and just got a description of the kinds of stuff they are trying to do when talking to one of the volunteers.Quote:

Hey everyone, just wanted to say I'll be in this pod until Augest 19. :)
My family will be at Topsail Beach, NC the first week in August. With luck, I will have a tail by then and might be able to take a dip in the Atlantic. :)
