Anyone else ever get that feeling???

I was so happy I could get my name changed on here. I feel like after awhile my mer-name didn't really fit the mer I have become. I use OdetteDespairr as my modeling name, and for that, I still feel like Odette. But in mermaid mode it just wasn't right. I fixated on Nerenia a few months ago and hadn't been able to shake the feeling that that's the name I was supposed to have as a mer.

I feel like Mermaid Nerenia (near-een-e-uh) is really my true mer self.

i get the same feeling. my name is my personal name. but i would like to have a mermaid name

It took me awhile to find mine. It may take you a bit to find yours but once you do you'll know. I feel great typing in Nerenia now whereas I was always uneasy typing in Odette.

I'm currently trying to settle on a name...I want it to be a name that's likable. So far I've only found one name that I really like out of hundreds I've looked at. Zyla. I really like it, I think. My VERY picky friend really likes it too so that's a good sign. I've liked so many but my picky friend doesn't like many names at all and like I said, I want it to be a name I REALLY like and other people REALLY like too. Zyla is the only one to pass. xD

That's the main reason I'm still held back from the name, haha. I also want a name where the way it's sad is very prominent and straightforward. xD I personally say Zai-Lah. At least it's better than some of the other names I considered. Xylana, Nezzie, Nilla, Xia, etc.

For a while I use to go by as Zarina, now I can't even see what made me think of that. Bellasea is just such a better fit for my mer-sona

I feel the same... I don't care for Mermaid Blondie. I just don't know what else to do ._. xD

I do... Kalani just doesn't really seem to fit me. It seems so tropical, and that really isn't the mer I am. Kinda hard to explain, but I just don't enjoy it anymore, but I would feel bad if I changed it too. Does anyone else seem to have that issue??

Melusinah (Mel-ooo-seen-uh) is my gaming tag. But its kinda become a part of me as well. Names are very important, in any aspect.

I think we all need to have a name changing event.try to come up with names wih each other that's meaningful for all if us.

I was stoked when I found mine as well, I was looking for 5 months for a name, and fell in love with Luna, and Saphhire, and Saphira, and more, but many were taken, one day I was reading and came across the name Harmony, and was like, "that's my name, that's my mermaid name" and it worked! :-D I was pretty excited, but I had a 50 plus list of old celtic and latin names that I was taking apart and piecing together, so I understand the finding of the perfect one, it doesn't fit until it does, and then it just feels right.

Just realized I'm going to have to change my name once i make my tail!! Perhaps I'll use my mermaid name:nixie or perhaps I'll be merfinally XD

Yes, I am glad that names can be changed! I just called myself Rapunzel because that is what people call me. I usually call myself Revontuletar in most places but for some dumb reason I didn't do that here. But I couldn't think of anything else and I didn't have a mermaid name at the time. But I do now (my mermaid name is Aino Revontuletar) and so I am thinking of changing it

I have no clue what to do for mine. I was thinking MermaidAqua since its my nickname/campname but I believe someone already is using that name. :/

I plan on changing my name sometime soon. Spotted Catfish will always be near and dear to me, but I really want something a bit more mermaid-y sounding. I still have to find that name.

I've decided to keep my name. Andrea. I don't need a new name. The mermaid thing is a part of who I am.

Edit: but of course Somebody is using my name already. (Andrea is my real name. Born and raised. On my birth certificate and everything.)

Aurora seems to fit my merself the best currently. It's not my real name, but I just didn't feel comfortable using my real name for my mermaid self. It didn't seem to fit, at all. I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses a different name for their mermaid name, I'm new to the entire thing and am only familiar with a few mermaids, who all use their real name as far as I can tell.

The mermaid part of my persona is definitely Azaiya. I can't really remember where it came from, actually? I'm not sure it came from anywhere, but it has always felt right to me.

I think that it's interesting that we feel the need to choose different names apart from our given, human ones. Putting on the tail does sort of make you feel the need to take on a new identity.

Names are really important and powerful. I think that's amazing! Taking a new or different name can change us.

Can I join the mernaming? I have no idea what to do about names. I want it to be close to Iva, which is my real name, but sound a bit more aquatic if that makes any sense.

I like to look through RPing books and look up the suggested names for elves! Those are often very pretty and exotic sounding

I think Zyla is a great name! Picking a name wasn't hard for me. I go by the name Revontuletar in most places anyway. It means "daughter of the Northern lights" in Finnish. 'Revontulet' = Northern lights + the suffix -tar, meaning 'daughter' or 'female spirit/deity.' I coined that name for myself because of my fascination with the Northern Lights. Aino is a character from the Finnish national epic Kalevala, who drowned herself and turned into a Nix. I am basing my mermaid persona off her. The name Aino means "only" so if you put my name together it literally translates to "Only daughter of the northern lights." it seemed to be the perfect name for me

It took me a while to find my mermaid name but once i did it just kind of clicked! I was flipping through the pages of a book i read a while ago and i just fell in love with the name isis!

Isis is an interesting name for a mermaid. Is yours an Egyptian mermaid? That's awesome

Agh yeah, it can get confusing when there are mers with similar names. I hope mine isn't too similar to anyone else's. I think I'm pretty safe, I haven't seen any other Ainos on here :D

I choose Gem Stone because I like the name Gem but the name I would go into for a professional is different. more mermaidy. its Ulla, which means (if im not mistaken) comes from the sea or something like that.
