Just found this interesting. Watched Splash the other night so I was browsing through the Ultimate Splash Fan Group on FB. Turns out Adam Martyn posted late January of this year..

No one ever did get their money back from him, and no one could track him down since he moved somewhere in Hungary. The nerve of that guy. -_-
There was an actual tv news report about him and what he did to Selene. I was helping Melissa try and go after him. He probably thinks enough time has gone past lots of newbies dont know. He is the worst of the worst.

Well he didn't deliver any of the tails or even make them. He is legit the worst. He sold tails for much more than is average now. I contacted him for a quote once. 8-10k starting.

If you put in "adam martyn fantasea creations" into Google you'll come up with all kinds of pages and people posing about it from Twitter, Facebook, to Google and Model Mayhem and beyond.

I want there to never be any question about this guy. He's blacklisted in this community, and hopefully for anyone who would consider going into business with him.
Wow, I really love that news clip though covering it. They covered all the bases, weren't judgmental about it and it was just...a good story done on a horrible incident. Does anyone know around how much money he is hoarding? I didn't think it'd be more than $10k but now it seems like it's definitely more than that. :/ I'm sorry to everyone who was involved in it--but he definitely doesn't belong in this community.
Yes this is one of those cases where you do not give this man a chance. That was how he scammed the last few people. By asking for a chance to redeam himself

(Also, side note- I just got a ton of requests so I just wanted to say that I typically don't add mermaids on my personal FB profile. Nothing against you guys, I promise, I'm just really selective with who I have on there. So if I don't accept your friend request that's why!)

If I recall, he used to tell his victims that he couldn't make their tails cause his business partner stole all his money. Then he'd tell them that he would definitely make their tail once he was back on his feet, but that he couldn't do that if they told everyone that he was a con man.
His victims so desperately wanted to believe that they would get their tails that most waited a long time to tell people they'd been robbed. I don't blame them. Telling everyone they'd been robbed officially meant they would never get their tails or their money back, while staying silent meant there was still a tiny sliver of hope. Adam Martyn is such a massive piece of shit.
I truley believe he paved the way for others. Because people know he got away with it
He is american though and regardless of where he flees he still needs to hit usa soil periodically and if those mers press charges hell he will be arrested at customs.

Do we know if he is scamming in 2nd country? He may have run there to get away from what he was doing here. Plus, he has to get caught, someone has to press charges...it goes on and on. I hope one day it all catches up to him and he gets what he deserves.

Sure...makes it harder to prosecute him. That's why so many identity thieves work from eastern European countries. Practically impossible to chase down.

Also, I'm not sure if he originally planned to be a conman. He worked in the fx industry and had experience making tails. He even posted youtube videos showing how he made tails. He may have originally planned to sell tails but then decided to be a conman when he discovered that people were willing to pay the full amount upfront. I don't know what his motivation was.
He was in USA when he started working with Melissa, and then went there in the middle of it. I have all the screenshots of her communication with him from back then because I was helping her deal with it.
He talked about making money using his tutorials too. I think I've only known 1 person to have one of his tails, Mer Matt? He's got that old blue one. Looks nothing like the ones Adam shows. And he bought it second hand I believe.

Iona I'm curious how people responded to your post, and I also think you should post the video there too. I feel like the drama tail makers will stick together and defend him just on principle. But I think if you show the video it'll shut em up ;)

Actually Matt only has that tail because he won it in an eBay auction from Mike Van Daal, who originally owned it. Mike ordered before everything went nuts- it was before Adam started making the silicone tails (it's a latex tail). Only people I know that got tails were the chick that got Selene's tail and Venus.

Well I saw the photos myself back in the day and that was indeed Selene's tail. I actually recognized it right away since she had posted the fluke shape and I think color design somewhere. Venus came on the Seatails Ning and said she got it, but then again no one ever confirmed it was actually her since mods didn't check IPs or anything like I suggested. Maybe ning doesn't have that ability. But I mean since he actually completed the tail id assume that she got it. But no I never saw pics of her in the tail.
Yeah just curious because it's easy to say "oh this was for this client" and use it to advertise. I dont remember seeing any evidence anywhere she actually got her tail.
