Well I imagine that on their periods they would wear a tampon or cup, just like any other swimming experience.
And for farting or peeing in the pool, I would imagine they just hold it. Or do the fart...It's just air so it should bass through at the waist like any water trapped inside would.
Silicone tails are full of air before you get in the water. It all comes out around your waist soon after you enter the water. Any other gas comes out the same way.
I can't answer the question about periods, but for farts....either hold it or let it rip.
oh, okay, thanks guys
To sound a bit more appropriate than my last comment, when I use my silicone tail, it pushes a lot of air out initially, but not all of it. During swimming, more air will come out later. And if you are splashing around, or around others splashing around, then there's little chance that anyone one will hear it. And if they do, then say "I just farted" as a sarcasm when air gets pushed out of your tail....then you can confess about it when you really do fart with less embarrassment.
okay, thanks!
I know I'm the last person expect to know the answer to this being a merman but I'm also a mertender so I heard this conversation enough to have an answer. The cups are used by a lot of professional mermaid due to being the most secure of the all the options available. Plus less taxing on the environment due to reusable nature of them when washed properly. I just don't know if they can used for really deep diving as I hear they can have quite a bit of suction to them during regular use.
As for having your period while mermaiding, either use an appropriate tampon or diva cup, or skip that week until you're off your period. Like you would if you were just swimming.
wow, okay, thanks everyone
I never swam in my cup but as a long term cup user, I can say they've changed my life ever since I switched. You don't feel them and they are so secure. If I'm wearing my newly changed cup, I never worry about even the slightest leakage. :)
If in doubt, empty your cup before the swim, even if you emptied it before leaving the house! If you're still worried, then don't go. No enjoyment can be gained from swimming with a heavy mind.
