    Jim Carrey- merman!

I shared this on my Raina page. Without coming off too creepy here, isn't that one heck of a tail? Considering it seems to only have been used for this photoshoot. Usually when celebs do this kinda thing they dont go all out on what looks like a silicone or latex tail. I was trying to find out more about the photo but this was the only thing I found online and had no context so Im not sure what it was for and I dont remember hearing about it.

It's hilarious how respectful and polite you are. There are so many guys that if they see a picture of a celebrity dressed as a mermaid they're like, "Oh my god shes so beauitful I want to have sex to her!!1!". You guys are like, "I certainly hope you fellows don't find me to crude, but I must say he looks quite handsome in that costume."

Is it because you guys have been sexually harassed so much that you're especially aware of how easy it is to be creepy on the internet?

Yes. just today I got an email telling me I make a sexalicious mermaid and asking me if I think mermaids have sex on the land or in water. LOL

The internet is such a mindblowingly strange place. Did anyone ever imagine that if you gave people the ability to communicate with strangers anonymously from long distances that so many people would behave like total jackasses? What motivates someone to say something like that aniaR? Obviously they don't expect you to leave your boyfriend, hop on a plane, fly to wherever they are, and fuck their brains out. Why exactly do they bother sending it?

I think that it's the fact that you never have to look them in the eye when you pass them at work/in the cafe/on the street EVER at all, so you don't feel like anything bad you say will affect you. As for why thay'd say anything to begin with? I cannot fathom.

What amazes me is that anyone is surprised that a species with a history like ours would do anything but act like a set of sexually repressed morons when they get their hands on technology like this.

Just imagine what will inevitably happen when we make first contact with another intelligent species and the inevitable begins, but with another species and across vast the vast distances of space.

LOL! Lilypad Lagoon has an intarwebz stalker who asks us if he like to do it underwater, uses 'cumming' instead of 'coming' but oddly enough isn't incessant in his posts, so he's regarded as pretty tame.
Nate's right, given any opportunity, its gonna come down to sex jokes. Because face it, the human race are first and foremost, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals. They didn't need the internet to start behaving that way. Heck, they were doing it by post, my telephone, even by morse code.

Plus, we all know what the intarwebz is really for! :P

Reminds me of the episode of Blackadder the Third in which the Prince Regent uses the manuscript of Samuel Johnson's first ever dictionary of the English language to look up rude words.

I keep getting messages "YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND?!" *facepalm*

Some guys are just so smooth with openers like that; I wonder how they think them up.

I think the background is either a painting or green screen. With Jim on a prop in front of it.

The message in this photo is about pollution.

I applaud Jim for doing this shoot. We need more celebrities willing to put themselves out there like this.

The photographer is Herb Ritts. You can find the original photo on Jim Carrey's unofficial photoshoot webpage.

The tail itself was made by Robert Short and the photo itself was for a cover of the Rolling Stone.

    Hope that helps.
