SCA Mermaid Event (May, Valders WI)

So a friend of mine in the SCA sent me this, she says you don't need to come in mermaid attire or even be an SCA member. Though I'd pass the info on http://northshield.org/Events/EventAd.aspx?ID=1040

has the SCA gotten more lax in the past 10 years? Last time I was a member it was a huge no no to have anything mythical as a persona

I think it may vary from where you are, too...some are VERY up tight, and some are cool. And I don't know if they're looking at this as much of a Persona thing or not...granted I've known many people to have several personas, so that's not impossible either.
