I'm not the Only Mer in my Small Town!

OH MY DOG!!!

I live in a tiny suburb if Chicago, where the only mer I knew for the longest time was myself. Then, I made my friend a tail for her birthday and for a few weeks, I thought we were the only two mers in town. So one day I went to the public pool and brought my tail. Adult swim had just finished, so I was walking back from the slides to the main pool. To get there, I had to walk past the leisure pool. There were a few girls in the leisure pool, playing mermaids and loudly inviting any girl who entered to play with them. I rushed to my chair and got my tail, then put it on and hopped in. The girls gave me quite a fuss, asking "You have a mermaid tail?" And then two of the girls gave me a hit:
"I have a tail at home, but I thought you weren't allowed to wear them here!"
"I have a tail at home, but my dad won't let me use it here!"
One even said;
"I want a tail, but I haven't got enough money!"

Aw that's awesome! I'm having a hard time meeting up with any local mers, or even getting to hang with ones from my pod. i hate being land locked.
