    How many does it take?

    Two part question:
    A) How many people does it take to help you get into your silicone tail? One? Two? Can you get into it by yourself? Quickly? Does it take 30 minutes?
    B) What brand silicone tail do you have?

    My answers are:
    A) It takes at least one person helping me to get into my tail, usually my husband. It takes about 15 minutes, though I'm getting faster at it.
    B) Mermaid Creations. It's very thick.

(Answer may change once I get my new tail)

Sherielle, your avatar picture is gorgeous.

    Here are my answers!

    A) Just me in about 5-10 minutes. (It seems like every once in a while I have a super hard time though. It took me over 20 minutes to get it on when I went swimming with Cyanea. I also made a tail "anklet" out of part of a fringed and sequined belly dance belt for days when I am just too exhausted to cajole the cursed Ankle Wrinkle out. Sometimes you just gotta get in and get going, you know?)
    B) I have a MerNation tail, which is pretty thick from what I understand.

    A) just me, in about 10-15 minutes, and just water for lubrication. most of the time is securing the homemade monofin, since it has internal straps I can barely reach (NEVER AGAIN!)
    B) homemade!

    Thank you!!

See, I figured that it shouldn't take so much effort to get into a tail.

A: Just me, less than 2 minutes, hair conditioner for lube.

B: A Pearlie Mae tail, of course.

Ok, now I think I'm getting a complex, lol.
Though to be honest, my tail is second hand and it's probably a bit to small for me.

I watched Mermaid Kelda put her finfolk tail on by herself in like 5 min when we had our meet up.

My Merbella partial took me about 5-10 when I could fit in to it but I always needed at least one person to help

A/B ) I have mertailor's basic, and it depends a lot, it has this finis wave inside and it's quite annoying mono to have inside a tail, the straps get loosen very easy, and it's so hard for me to try to tighten them by myself. Riiarin has helped me to tighten them cause she has smaller hands, but then when I have them tightened I need her help to get the straps on. So, with loose straps and therefore loose kick with the mono, I can get into tail easily by myself, but swimming with it is not nearly as enjoyable as it is when the straps are tight and you can get a proper kick with the monofin. So, by myself with loose straps, easily under 5 mins, with Riia helping me, 15 mins, but then it's wonderful to swim cause you have a nice propulsion.

It takes me one extra helper and 15-30minutes to get into my silicone tail.
It's a Early Purple Rainbow tail and cast Very thick. Also I struggle with the Wave monofin straps Every single time.

Nerissa, i feel your pain deeply. I have one of his 'silicone neoprene' tails and it does the same thing. I had caulk stuck around the clip thingies. Once i cut that away i got twice as much time out of it before having to adjust. Ive since zip tied the straps right underneath the clip thingie. Works pretty well. When its dry it takes 30 seconds or less to put on. Wet it takes a couple minutes.

My fabric tail just slides on, maybe 10 seconds including feet strapping in.

My red silicone tail takes a good 10 minutes and lotion. My waist to hip ratio is more then 10 inches so its really hard to get that waist over my big butt!

My pink silicone tail doesnt take more then a minute since i made it extra stretchy and light.

My tail is slightly too big for me though so that helps a whole heap!

I've got a Merbella tail and I've gained some weight since I got it.

It takes me about 10-15 minutes to put on, generally with help from my husband or someone I'm pretty close to. One of the tricks that works from me is to not wear underwear or a bathing suit bottom. I've got a big ass, so getting the tail's narrower waist over thighs, hips, and butt AND fabric was a nightmare. I was wearing thongs but the last time I wore the tail I was like, what the hell is the point? and went commando. It was SO MUCH FASTER OMG.

Anyway, it's definitely a process for me, bottoms or no.

(Also, no bottoms may not work in all areas, obviously. I had a private changing room for my last event, which made modesty easier.)
