Have you tried using tankini tops and altering them. I think it would save a little bit on having to make the top from scratch.

I did try using a sports bra as a base but a tankini may work better. Thanks I've drawn up some new patterns that I think will work quite well so I'll keep this thread updated for it.

Hey, I realize I am pretty late to this thread and you haven't updated it in a while so I don't know if you are still doing this. But I would be very interested in the merman top. I am female bodied but want to make a more androgynous mersona. His you added very slight compression like a sports bra for me I would love that top so much.
