Thread: Silicone tail with elastic waistband?

  1. #1

Question Silicone tail with elastic waistband?

Long story short, I'm looking to commission a wonderful silicone tailmaker in a few months for my first silicone tail. I was wondering if anybody has had experience with elastic waistbands in silicone tails? I know Mermaid Hannah has or had one, but I've never seen it. I've only seen elastic in fabric or solid neoprene.

I'm worried about the gap in the small of my back (a huge pet peeve of mine in videos and pictures), and sometimes my belly goes from toned to...average. I'm underweight at the moment and gaining (health reasons), but I used to have awesome abs, now I'm just...kind of soft.

So I worried about toning vs "normal" belly, an inch or two in difference.

Anybody have experience with this, or waistbands in silicone tails in general? Pros, cons, thoughts? Any help appreciated, thank you!

Ironically, I just talked about this in a video I'm still editing.

Basically I boiled down to preferring a tighter waist due to the fact that you will have a muffin top no matter what, so you might as well have a tail that doesn't gap. A higher waistline can also help.

Hello Lorelei! I've seen you on deviantArt, I love your work. Thank you for your input, I appreciate it. I think you're correct. A higher waistline would be a good idea, too!

I agree, a higher waistline will stop the gaping. I'm currently developing a waist piece that will address this problem, but I'm still prototyping!

You can embed clips in your silicone pour, that way you can adjust it as needed. Or embed a belt piece, that also works but can be uncomfortable.

I too agree higher waistline works alot better, my merwrangler adds elastic's to all my tails fabrics and even my neoprene silicone tail, he's about to add one onto my #mertailor silicone partial tail, i will upload a photo so you can see it,
