Thread: Name that tail!

    Name that tail!

I was wrestling with this the other day...what to name my tail? And I know I've seen posts in the past asking for help, but I thought a central post for all tails in need of names would be a fun idea. (If such a thread already exists, I couldn't find it!)

SO! Do you have a tail that needs a name? Post a picture below and get some ideas!

I'll start...I'm stumped for a good name. Looking for something that embodies the creative process that doesn't go quite according to plan, but you keep plugging away at it anyway and it turns out unexpectedly awesome. Like "serendipity" but more deliberate (I reached the end goal, after all). Or perhaps something evoking the copper-lapis lazuli-ancient gold color scheme. Incorporating "pearl" (a nod to Pearlie's contribution) would also be sweet. Suggestions?

I'm almost certain I made a thread a while ago called name that tail but more for stating what your tails name was. I'll have to double check haha.

I've seen an individual post here and there for help with a specific tail...but just searching for "name" and "tail" in the title came up with a whole lotta unrelated threads. Of course I'm too lazy to dig through more than 3 pages of search results, so....

    Name that tail!

Fair enough. The search function is rather lacking on the site haha.

Byzantine. That's what the colors of your tail reminds me of. An ancient civilization that once thrived in the far reaches of the mountains. They were adept at making pottery and bronze weapons.

Don't have a name suggestion, but I'm just gonna mention that I LOVE the size of your scales. They just look so fishy!

    I think I second Byzantine.

I'm leaning that way myself. I once bought a bunch of books on the Byzantine Empire because I wanted to recreate full royal regalia from the time. Back when I was big into the SCA and crazy. OK, never got over the crazy...just switched obsessions...

Copper is associated with the Goddesses Aphrodite, Astarte and Ishtar. It is also associated with the country of Cyprus which claims to be “The Sacred Isle of the Goddess Venus”, and how copper got its name.

Maybe an allusion to the colors in your tail?
