What a wonderful list you have made! (I even found my real name, Marissa, in this list!)

I'm actually not finished with the list, I submitted it too soon, so I'll continue to add names

Didn't know that Nerissa comes from Latin America too, it's also from Greece mythology and language and means " sea sprite" pretty similar with the "daughter of the sea" though.

I should probably mention Thuy is actually female.

    Chau is unisex.

there's different pronunciation for Thuy though depending on the accent above the U.
For Chau: the title "co" (ms. Or young mrs) or "ba" elderly woman would be used in conjunction with Chau to refer to a female.
The title "ong" elderly male, or "chu" (mr) would be used if referring to male.
example: co Chau , ba Chau. Ong Chau, chu Chau.
if however speaking to a child, those titles are not necessary. Though I have found that when they refer to the boys they would say "thang" because they say their name.
    Example: Thang Chau.

My real name is on it. It just has an S in front of it! But I decided long ago not to use any fish or mermaid themed name because I knew then, there is most likely another mer with that same name somewhere else in the world! So I used my fave chocolates... Choc Jaffas!

My name is on the common list. I actually used it cause i didn't want my real name but still wanted to respond quickly, and Mia is what my mom calls me.

    What's in a Name?

    Hello Hello,
Newbie Merman here with my first tail on the way. I've been wondering what to call myself and am happy to have found this site. Thank you for your list of names! Still not sure which one I'll pick but maybe I'll get more inspiration after swimming in my tail. Guess I don't have to have a name right off the bat right?!
I do appreciate the list of most used names to give me a better idea of something more unique.

    Jeff

Oh hey! My name isnt on either lost, so I must have chosen well! Rain is my regular-life nickname (a holdover from being in the Army), and I have encountered a shocking number of people who share it in other groups I'm a part of. Having it be uncommon as a mer makes me so happy
