In the North Bay, Sonoma County area there are some really nice and warm rivers to swim in with free beach access. Would anyone be interested in a swim meet up there?

Warm rivers? I haven't found a warm river in our area in 25 years.

I live in the San Jose area and would be totally interested!
Up in Monte Rio, a tiny town on the Russian River, is Johnson's Beach. Depending on the time of year, it gets really warm. I swam out there last year and it really was very warm. Even to me, and I'm a big wuss. There are a several beaches along the river, even up past the Guernville area all the way up past Healssburg and Geyserville.
I could do a scouting trip to test the waters
Where in the area are you? the Russian River can be really nice on a good day.
by the way I believe it is spelled Healdsburg if you are referring to the town I think you are.
Clumsy fingers on a small phone lol
I used to live up there. Nice River spots.
There's swimming down most of it, and floating slowly down a good many pieces.
I found this travel bit about swimming holes around the greater Bay Area. Maybe some of these places would be neat? I've never been to them.

ah typing on cell phones
I didn't even know most of those swimming holes existed O.o
I am definitely interested. Were you thinking about June?
Hopefully waters are warm by June! It's been such a weird summer.
Hopefully we can find a place that's relatively handicap accessible. I'm in a wheelchair for the foreseeable future
I can walk really short distances with a walker but anywhere that is a hike into I can't get to.

If you merfolk want to take over and pick a place I wouldn't mind. I totally understand if I won't be able to access the water.

I want to host a mermaid and family swim at my neighborhood pool this Summer. Guests of members are five dollars each. The pool is open from noon to eight pm. The pool is heated and the deep end is nine feet. They hold swim meets there so it is plenty big. I just bought the new go pro silver and I would be happy to take underwater photos and movies of all the attending mermaids. If we have more than ten guests we have to pay for an additional life guard, but we can split the cost.

Is it ok if I don't have a tail?
I think this was an old thread from 2 years ago. Look at the year on the last post, it was 2016.
There were mermaids at the Nor Cal pirate fest last weekend. They were from the Sacramento dive bar. This area seems so diverse, it take a lot of effort to get something done.
I would attend, but sadly, I'm out of state at the end of July.
