I've not yet heard back from Athena, so she might still be miffed with me.

I have some samples over color bases, too, but black works best! I want to make a larger sampling of scales to see how they look piled together, but I have tails to finish, first!

It wasn't easy to perfect, and I still have to run some durability tests.

Talk about a stunner! I can't wait to see what you do with these shifting pigments. I've been messing around a bit with iridescence in silicone things like starfish, but I'm not even brave enough yet to go full color shift. I'm practically drowning with excitement right now over the thought of my own tail using similar pigments!

You, my dear, are a true genius tail artisan!

Impressive, I like it. Does the colour change due to how the light hits the colour or is it the angle its on?

Can someone please get me back to the ocean before I suffocate... I need the water......

I can safely answer this one. These are considered light-interference pigments, so it's both the light and the angle. Changing the angle shifts the color, but moving into a different lighting will also change the colors. Unlike holographic pigments that thrive in full-sun, chromatic pigments often "shine" best in indirect light, where you can see more of the shift at once.

Oh, and here is a fun fact that all us mermaids should REALLY love!! There is a trick for photographing chromatic nail polish in a way that shows the most colors possible: put your nails underwater! The refraction of the water actually bends the light in such a way that you see more colors at once. So a true multichrome tail has the potential to look STUNNING underwater.

Okay, get a grip, get the hang of this flipper,
It's like slipping two feet into one big huge slipper.
I can't believe I can do this and more,
To swim in the sea like I walk on the shore.
Out of my shell not closed up like a clam,
Look out sea, this is me, here I am....

Oddly enough, I haven't heard from her since I apologized, and only have seen her once, since...in her tail (where the pigments obviously worked) at an event. Maybe I've been blocked?
