    Genderless Merfolk?

Hello, I am a female bodied Mer but I would much prefer to create the illusion of a genderless, if not more on the masculine sided Merpersona. Any suggestions for dealing with up top? I am only a A-cup which helps but I'm at a loss as for what to do.

You could make an armor looking chest plate to wear and keep you flat chested looking. If you really want to make it masculine you could include ab muscles in the chest plate sculpt. Or you could just give it lots of cool designs maybe in the art nouveau style.

I wouldn't be much help in knowing what materials to make said chest plate out of, but I do know there is a merman on here with some wonderful swimable armor.

Armor is a great idea. I also had a vest for a while that I used.

Of course, the ultimate way to flatten out your top is with a binder. Underworks has one specifically for swimming, and GC2B sells ones that can be used for swimming too. They tend to resemble rashguards/tank tops though, so wearing something over it would be a must.

This is what I do, which I quite like.

Bottom layer is a swim binder. Over that is a top of flesh-tone spandex, with a flesh-tone binder sewn into it, with fins/gills/scales all painted to it.

Lou Henry Hoover is a drag king and burlesque performer. His costuming is always amazing, and I particularly love how he disguises his binding. Here's a pic from his Merman act:

Yes! His costuming is always amazing! Very innovative ideas for a drag king to do striptease.

Wow I love his work! I wonder where he gets those binders. That is amazing. I'm gonna work on altering a binder like that.

I can't tell what kind of binder he has from these shots. But, GC2B just released a line of binders in flesh tones (five different shades) http://gc2b.co/collections/gc2b-all-nude So that might be a good base

Just remember, if you swim with a binder on, try not to take it on or off while it is wet. Not only does that make it a lot harder, but it'll stretch out the material a lot faster.

I'll be honest, I didn't actually read the article. But these look promising:

I've been looking at the gc2b nude binders for a while, and I've heard they work well for swimming. (They've got it in their faq's but I'm too lazy to get the link) I can't get one yet (see: no bank account/visa gift card, trans*/genderqueer/homophobic parents)
