Will I Ever Get My Merrowfins Tail?

I'm becoming concerned about my Merrowfins order. On Halloween 2015, I was in pretty routine email dialogue with Matt. Nov. 5th I purchased a personal money order for $3,240 from my bank. Nov 14th, he acknowledged receiving my money order of $3,000 plus shipping. Nov 25th, he said he had my fluke sculpted for the most part. Nov. 29, body is pinned together. Fluke to be molded soon. Jan 12, he'll be molding it by week's end and pouring it the following week. Feb. 19, fluke molded and body poured. Now creating mono fin. March 15, I emailed over color specifications and he acknowledged it. April 15, he's delicately working on the seams to make them less noticeable. Then I got silence. I posted here on Mernetwork about my concerns, then sent him another email on June 30, just asking for an update. He replied the same day saying his emails to me were "undeliverable". He says the tail is assembled but it hasn't been painted. He's been waiting for me to be sure it's all clear. So, I replied politely, leaving him room for dignity in case he was hiding something. Internally, I was suspicious because I haven't changed my email address. The one he replied with is the same one I've been corresponding with. I voiced two concerns: (1) be sure it's Dragonskin, and (2) does he have photos? No reply. Sent another July 5th. No reply. Emailed today during business hours to both email addresses and pm'd him on Facebook. Waiting to get a reply.

I'm suspecting he's covering for no real progress. He's only sent two photos and those were wooden sculpts of my fluke and that was months ago. It's money I wanted to devote to a Merbellas tail right from the start, but her waiting list seemed too long.

I still have scans of my money order and the application forms.

I would say contact your credit card company asap and get your money back.

I used a money order, but it's worth asking my bank anyway.

Contact them asap. Whatever you used. Typically you only have so many days before you can tell your story and hopefully get your money back for goods not received.

I called my bank. She said once it's cashed, there's nothing they can do. I'm guessing he cashed it because he said he'd do that the next day. She suggested getting out my money order stub. If I can't find it I could go to the place I bought it with the purchase date and they could send a photocopy.

Very good news. I was smarter than I thought. I sent him scanned copies of my order form and the money order itself!!!! It's stored right in my email. My bank representative couldn't find a result for the serial number or account number, so I'm going tomorrow to the bank where I bought it and see if it's been cashed. Weird.

I am so sorry. Back when you first emailed me I just had such a pit in my stomach about the whole thing.

I think you will eventually get the tail. Matty can't afford to scam anyone. It might just be a while. I usually say that skill and artistry is worth waiting for. Just not sure that's the reason why it's late

Okay. I sent one on July 5th marked with the same subject line that we've been using all along. No reply. Then I sent one July 6th to both his email addresses. He didn't reply to those but he did reply to the Facebook message I sent 7/5 saying he didn't get the other email. So, I replied on Facebook saying "that's weird. I sent you (blah)."

Good news. The money order had been cashed at the time. Also, he replied to the Facebook message, offering to send photos. I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like.

Might want to just go ahead and get your money back hun. If he can't send you photos the day of and it's been this long with no update... I'm a little scared for you honestly.

Thanks, Moongazer. Nice name, by the way. I've been holding off to absolutely give the benefit of the doubt, but this is ridiculous. Still no photos. He hasn't posted anything at all on Facebook.

Great news! I reached Matt by phone and we chatted. He sent me a full shot of my tail right away. It seems he's been having problems getting my emails.

I just got my tail from MerrowFins it took 6 months and 4 weeks to be mailed out I can’t really say I’m most happy with the tail as in I don’t think Matt made my tail the tail is way to big and Matt doesn’t have blond hair witch I found on the tail I do love the scales tho that’s my favorite part of the tail and he did put the fluke I like on it but overall it’s way to big on me and some silicone is coming off the tail and paint but Matt said he will make my tail beautiful again so I believe him.
