THIS JUST IN! I have been appointed to represent America in Miss Mermaid International 2016, the world's only mermaid beauty pageant! I will be leaving next week for 2 weeks in EGYPT to swim and frolic in the Red Sea with mermaid beauty queens from around the world! It's dream come true!

Thanks! Was re-reading your book last night in the tub looking for tips for next week! I'll def bring it with me to show the other mermaids.

2015 was the inaugural year so this is only their 2nd year. Many of the Miss Mermaids come from the pageant world and some from the mermaid world. I've never done a pageant before but my college roommate was Miss Long Island and competed in Miss New York, so I know a little about them from her. I was referred to a Euromodel Agency scout by a friend only a few days ago and they loved that I had actual mermaid experience.

Will be learning as much as I can and hopefully I can help bring in more mermaids for next year!

Wow so I haven't been active on Mernetwork since this post (so much mermaiding it's been overwhelming to try to update!) but since returning from Mermania I'm inspired to get back in the loop! So many Mermanians asked me about what all goes on at Miss Mermaid, I'll post a full update here as soon as I can!
