What mermaid books are you currently reading?

I'm currently reading a book called The Siren by Kierra Cass and I'm planning on reading more mermaid books. Feel free to add some suggestions on any good mermaid books to read.

I'm in love with the Waterfire Saga even though I've only read the first two books. I need to get my hands on the rest of the series at some point.

I've heard of the Waterfire Saga. Maybe I'll read that one next.

Definitely should. It is a great series from what I've read so far( only the first two) lol I really want to get all four and read it from start to finish. The chapters aren't super crazy long either. Usually only a few pages per chapter

Waterfire saga all the way! It's amazing. Have you guys heard the song that goes with it? It's called "Open Your Eyes" by Beau Miller and it is also amazing.

I haven't heard it yet, but I'll make sure to go and check it out

The kiss that changed me by Kristy Nicolle. It's book three in the Tidal Kiss Trilogy.

I'm not reading anything at the moment, but I am working on one of my own! I have mostly settings and characters ready, but a proper story isn't quite set yet. This is a neat thread though! It might help me to find good books and get inspiration from fellow mers/merfolk lovers.

Good for you. That's actually one of the reasons I'm here too. All these books really help inspire me.

So my daughter picked out "Poor Unfortunate Souls" by Serena Valentino for me at her schools book fair. It gives more insight to Ursula and ties in The Little Mermaid with a bunch of other fairytales and even some Lovecraftian hints! I love it so much. <3

I loved the Ingo Series by Helen Dunmore, if you like selkies and the older, more folklore-esque mer aesthetic, and I loved the Lost Voices trilogy by Sarah Porter. Lost Voices was a little dark and dealt with heavier themes, but it was really well written, and had some of the most interesting depictions of sirens/mermaids I've ever seen in fiction. One of my favorite books of all time.

I love the Ingo books! All the songs in it are real which really added to it. I love the Waterfire Saga as well. Apart from them I've not read any good mer fiction so I'll have a look at some of the other series as well.

Currently I'm reading Raina book "How to be a Mermaid." It's actually the first book I read in over 15 years.
