I ended up buying the last few metres from a sale but haven't sewed anything yet! It does feel a little bit stiffer than spandex.

What I'd like to know is, do I need to include additional seam allowances or do a wrap around on my legs with the material to make it fit? With spandex, you just trace the pattern, sew it up and it'll fit perfectly. Are there extra steps for scuba knit?

Nope! Do the exact same thing you would with spandex and any other stretch fabric no extra steps needed (if it's true scuba knot anyways. Check the stretch to make sure)
