    Mermaid land mobility

Is there a thread that discusses getting around on land with your tail on? I know mertenders are great at helping relocate mers and sometimes I see mermaids use wheelchairs. When at the beach I'll put my fabric tail on under a blanket and roll into the water. Now that I have placed an order for a silicone tail, I'm curious about other mobility methods. I'm a bit uncomfortable always asking someone to lift me (It may be a mental thing but I like doing things on my own.) I've looked at some beach wheel chairs and they run in the $1000s. I've seen some mermaids in wagons. Who uses them & do you like them? What about those beach wagons with the big wheels? Or a dolly carrier that you can put a big cooler? . Has anyone made a DIY mermaid mobility device that they want to share? Or just share pictures of what you currently do? (Or if there is a thread already created, could you point me there?) Thank you all!!

First, hello other Floridian mer! <3
Congrats on the silicone tail order placement!

I've had questions on mobility, too, since I have a hybrid tail on the way. I've found a few useful things here and there:

I was thinking of getting two dollys, like you have pictured there, and somehow welding/roping them together, then adding a plastic, wood, or etc. platform screwed down to it. That'd probably work best if you have a mertender or merwrangler, though.
DIYs will always be cheaper, but keep looking around and be creative

    I hope I helped some! <3

Call me lazy but I was thinking more of putting the tail on inside of those inflatable barrells. Kinda like this https://www.southpaw.com/media/catal...SP_1330_15.jpg but more bigger. At least those can have us roll yourself once the tail is put on inside of it to the water. I know it's crazy but it's an idea.

Hi, Florida Mers!! Good ideas. I think several will still require a Mer tender but at least they don't need to sling us over their shoulders. Slim- the inflatable barrel seems a bit far fetched but super fun, LOL. I'm thinking about getting pop up beach tent as a place to put the tail on closer to the water.

Sugar, that the whole idea was to keep it super fun. Us having tails makes us the excitement of everyone. The whole barrel thing just adds a whole new level of entertainment to them. Most definitely need a beach day with our tails. Are we still consider the silver tail?

You could always get a long tarp, and make a bit of a diy slip n slide. Make sure to weigh down the corners though, and that it extends far enough into the water that you won't become stranded, or scrape up your tail. Here's a decent guide you could follow. The length of the tarp also depends on the size of your beach. You could build up some serious speed, if you're careful (or not). And if you're careful to keep things safe and orderly, others could join in the fun too!

I learned to get myself in a stable spot in the water, then put the tail on while partially submerged.
