I really love this and all ther hard work Youre sharing. I was wondering, why pin the scales? Wouldn't you have to unpin them all later for attaching them? Why not silicone bond them as you go?

I pin them first to make sure they are placed in the right spots before putting them down permanently

Nope! My molds are so flat and slim it doesn't really need it. For my thicker molds that have undercuts and such I let them cure at about 40psi in pressure chambers.

Hmmmm....interesting! I would still make a band of the sorta clear scales and test to see its breaking point before committing to the tail...just to be sure!

Oh I have! It cures similar to 00-20 here. I'm guessing it's the altitude difference? Idk. But it's stretchy and doesn't seem to rip easy.

Just got caught up on this thread now and oh my gosh! Your tail looks amazing, I can't wait to see it finished and some pics of your swim with it! What you have now looks phenomenal! A hard month wouldn't even begin to describe that, sending peace and joy your way! Now, if you'll excuse me I must continue fangirling over your tail.
