Could I paint a thin layer of silicone over a silicone tail?

I'm thinking of making my silicone hybrid tail iridescent in the very near future, but would that cover up the markings?
Or could I mix silicone with iridescent mica pigment and very thin-ly spread it across the whole tail?
Should I be worried about anything else?

    Thanks in advance! <3

Mmmmmmmm. Probably? You would want to wash it with a strong soap. Like a dishwasher soap and a 99% rubbing alcohol blend. It might still not fully adhere of the silicone is older.

This is presuming you're using a dragonskin silicone, that's what I have experience with.

It's actually just a few weeks old
    Would that make a difference?

Sometimes new silicone doesn't like to stick to old silicone. A few weeks shouldn't be an issue. scrub it real real well.

Silicone pores close at 72 hours. You'll need to give your tail a chemical bath using naptha, xylene and acetone and using 99% isopropyl before, after and in between each step.

Is there a tutorial for that somewhere?
