Thread: Using normal dragonskin instead of psychopaint?

Using normal dragonskin instead of psychopaint?

Is there actually any difference between the regular dragonskin silicone and the psycho paint silicone for a top, colored layer?

Does the psycho paint adhere to cured silicone better or something?

I haven't seen any real reason to buy a whole new product, and can't seem to find a proper explanation why I should use a separate product, other than spending more at smooth on.

I asked a representative and she couldn't tell me why.

Well if you use more of the same silicone, you also have to buy pigments and probably have to buy a silicone thinner to make the silicone watery enough to paint with. Its mostly personal preference, I believe. There may be something with psycho paint adhering better to silicone past its green period but I don't know for sure.

This thread here has some info about this very question: https://mernetwork.com/index/showthr...silicone-tails

It's older, but I recalled it, so I did a quick search for it.

Thank you for the link @deepblue ! I emailed smooth on again and it sounds like the difference between psycho paint and dragonskin is only that psycho paint is clearer. (Which, in my experience it's not much clearer)
