Working on meet ups for the year! (All around Texas)

Hey guys,
If you have noticed, I have been posting in a majority of the FB pod groups, I would love to organize a bunch of meet-ups this year.
i know Texas is a HUGE state, but I think it would be great and it was a big hit when we did them in California!

I would love to know where ppl are located and if they could give me a location idea!

hey! It's been literally forever since I've been on here, but i think that'd be great. I drive an old chevy tahoe, so if someone in the Houston area ended up needing a ride, I may be able to manage it, if i can get time off for a meet!

Hello all. I think that would be grate I’m outside of Houston in Tomball. Think there are any tail friendly big pools some where to use? I’m hopeing to have my tail by the end of may !!!!

williams indoor pool in clear lake allows tails. I used to swim with scuba classes there- It is five bucks to get in though, but there's no time limit really.

Also, for those interested, Sylvan beach down in La Porte is cleaner than galveston and has less of a current. it's my beach of choice in the summer.

I know a lot of us don't always check MN all the time- so please make sure you are apart of the Pod of Texas.

I live in League City. (it's in Galveston county) Can't think of any good meetup locations at the moment, though.

If anyone wants to hang on sundays or Mondays, once I get my paycheck and have gas money, I’m game!

I'm over in San Marcos and would love to hang with you some Sunday or Monday. I too am a bit of a nerd and Star Wars and Star Trek both are near and dear to my heart as well.

When the public pools in League City open (the city website doesn't say exactly when that will be, ugh, and they aren't answering their phone right now) I'll call them and ask if they allow mertails. If we can get enough people in a meetup we might even be able to justify renting the pool. (which I guess is allowed starting June 3rd)

Another possible meetup area is McKinney Falls state park in Austin. The water isn't super clear like in Barton Springs but it's still a lovely place, (waterfalls!) and it doesn't get as busy as the other places. I haven't used a tail or fin there but I doubt they'd care.

I emailed the Pearland Natatorium (it's in the Houston area) and they said that mermaid tails are allowed! I haven't been to it myself but it looks promising. Adult one-day entry is $8. I think they even have deeper areas that we can swim in, so we might be able to practice deeper diving and tricks that you can't really do in shallow water.

I have a good car now and can go pretty much anywhere in Texas. I'm interested a bit in getting into meets, depending on where we go and how many people go.

I live in the River Oaks area of Houston, near downtown. I can't think of any deep, non concrete pools near me that are open at this time. If we do have a meetup, I would love for it to be in a non concrete pool, to protect my tail.
