Hi mers, I am a writer in NZ, who is working on a book about the rise of professional mermaids and the mermaid as a symbol in the 20th and 21st centuries. My book covers everything from the film Splash to conservation, sexuality, mers of colour, and much more. I have been interviewing merfolk on Skype for over a year now, and I am doing more research now. If you'd be interested in talking to me please get in touch.
