Hello everyone, I'm completely new to this and I will purchase my first tail this Friday! I was wonder if any of you had any advice, good pools or places to swim near Orlando and if you would like to meet up at some point!

I also live in Orlando as well! I am also searching for Pod mates! I'm a new mermaid, had my first swim at New Symrna; I don't recommend. Beautiful beach, but the water is really murky.
Check out Wekiwa Springs. It's a great spot for shallow swimming, and you can also work on breath holds and diving in the boil. Deleon Springs has a nice gentle slope and basin, great for practice swimming.
Focus on: Using your abs and hips to dolphin kick, not your legs. Holding your breath for long periods of time. Getting comfortable opening your eyes under water.
Be sure to bring a friend!!! you never want to swim alone in a mermaid tail. Also ask them to bring a waterproof camera for videos and photos, it's a great way to see your progress.
