    Fabric Tail too short...What Do??

Hello! I didn't really know where to put this soooo

I have a swimtails pro skin that I am in love with but is unfortunately very short on me, which I don't appreciate at all.
How can I ensure that my booty does not come out of the tail while I'm swimming?
As a last resort I will sell it

    Thanks for the help!

Oooh its a little hard to modify to make a skin longer. Im not sure I’d know a solution but I did see on another post you liked your other tail more, maybe you can take apart the leg part and the fin part and sew them but well thats assuming the tail skins match in color because if not I’d say you might be better off selling the skin and buying extra spandex in a color that does match to be able to modify your other tail skin

How about a gap wrap? I imagine if done well, it solves the problem of gaping open at the waist as well.

Gap wrap only solves the problem of a tail that is too big.

Shorter than usual tails need extra fabric sewn in at the waist.

I will go off of the gap wrap idea here, but instead why not make an attached version to lengthen the tail? Like a permanent accessory or a "stripe"?

I see a lot of mermaids who wear some sort of jingly belly dance skirt or similar made out of netting as a belt/cover...would you be able to attach something to extend your tail length and then cover it permanently with the skirt/belt thing?

Have you spoken with swimtails about this issue? When I bought my pro tail it was too short as well. They ended up doing an exchange for me (since I hadnt swam in it yet) and were very nice about it. Is this an option for you?

I've already swam in it twice and I got it for christmas last year so I think it might be too late

That's a great idea! I'm not very sewing savvy so a belt could cover up if I make any mistakes on adding extra fabric lol
