What to do with a junky monofin

So I'm cleaning out my closet and I just found my first monofin... It was literally the cheapest one I could find on eBay so as you can imagine, it's pretty junky. It's pretty much just a chunk of hard plastic that vaguely resembles a fin shape and is covered by a neoprene-ish fabric. I wouldn't give this thing to my worst enemy because honestly, it's probably dangerous... But it feels wrong to just throw it away.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to upcycle it and make it into something useful? Or should I just throw it in the trash where it belongs

Remove cover. Drill a hole and attach a hook or hanger, then glue a mirror in the centre and cover the rest of the area in shells, pretty pebbles, marbles, fishing lures, netting etc.

Once done, hang it up on your wall.

I would chuck the plastic and use the cover as a back up for a Finfun if their insert fits. Or sell to someone on here who wants to use it for something. You could even donate to goodwill or somewhere if it is usable. Otherwise I would pitch it.

That's a fun idea the shape is pretty wonky though

Definitely won't me donating it.. I don't want to be responsible for some child getting hurt or just having a crappy time trying to swim in the darn thing. Not gonna sell it either since it's only like $10 on eBay anyway. Don't think I'll save the lining either since I've got a fantasea fin and I don't think I'll ever get another stiff monofin. Might save it if I can think of something to make out of the material though...

I have been doing a little bit of aerial (rope, so far, hoping to try trapeze) in a tail and for that, lighter is better. If you like how it looks you could use it for dry events, it would be easier on your abs.

I kind of just subsume things into my latest project, so I would use the plastic part to mix paints and the tips of the cover to line footpockets or booties and the middle of the cover to clean my brushes. The trash I make is the worst mix of materials- resin, silicone that never cured...

I have one exactly like that too. Back when I first got into Mermaiding. I have a really cheap tail skin that fits it though and I just keep it inside and hang it up on my curtain rail as a decoration. It actually looks pretty cute like that. Occaisonally, I use both the tail and monofin as a costume (ie dress up days at work when I know it will get grubby and be abused). I have been wondering about what else I could do with the fin and tail. I was considering some sort of bag... but that requires the skin as well. I like the idea of sticking shells on it. Or you could make a simple tail to go on a teddy if you are cuddly toy lover. My favourite bear has her own tail... it could be a good base!
