    Fixing hem on tail

All right mers, so first my beautiful Mertailor Moon Kelp got lost in the mail and now on my first swim god knows what happened and a thread on the waistband came undone maybe half an inch during the swim. It isn't fraying, just the thread is coming out. I don't have pix- my friend has the tail and is gonna fix it up. It isn't a huge deal and I know it'll be fine but my poor little tail!! But what's the best way to sew over the sucker and make sure it doesn't happen again. Tbh idk what could have happened. I have had several fabric tails from different makers and made by me n friends, and this is a first (so maybe I'm paranoid?)

Sew over with zigzag stitch a bit longer than the actual hole/loose stitches.
